Background
Research suggests that the Chinese dairy market will be worth $26.7 billion by the end of 2015. In
2013, there were more than 600 dairy producers whose revenue was estimated at CNY 280 billion, up
14% year on year. The output of dairy products was estimated to be 26.98 million tons, up 6% year on
year. These are all strong indications that dairy products are already very popular.
In China, the liquid milk market is one of the well-developed markets in the dairy industry. However,
few liquid milk products in the Chinese market are produced in China by foreign enterprises. Most
imported milk products are in the milk powder business. In China, the market size of other dairy
products such as cheese is still small and in the initial stages of development.
Although sales and production in the Chinese dairy industry were strong in 2013, the economic
benefits did not grow proportionally. China is now one of the few countries with high milk prices. High
milk prices is a key factor that hinders the growth of dairy product consumption in China.
Numerous food safety scandals have prompted a series of reforms and changes in regulations of the
production, import, export and sales of dairy products since 2013.
With this in mind, the 3rd China Dairy Industry Summit 2015 will be launched in Beijing on April 1517, 2015. The summit will gather celebrated experts as well as industry leaders for a thorough analysis
of the latest M&A dynamics between Chinese dairy companies and leading foreign dairy companies,
industry integration and safety controls from materials to the end, dairy R&D innovation as well as
consumer insights, marketing strategy within the dairy industry in China. It will serve to provide an
effective platform for attendees to share their valued experiences and opinions of the many challenges
and opportunities within China's dairy industry.
