Greetings from The National Women’s Department Welcome to The Desmond Hotel & Conference Center We offer a warm Philadelphia greeting to all participants of this wonderful event, and hope that you have come to take advantage of a fantastic week with your sisters, those you know and those that you have yet to meet. We are very happy to have the Desmond Hotel & Conference Center host this year’s conference, and we want you to enjoy a week of learning ways to improve your life, warm fellowship, spiritual growth, laughter, a little retreat from the norm, exposure beyond your familiars, and an abundance of God’s love shown, one to another. Keep this booklet handy to familiarize yourself with times and location of daily activities, departures, and costs associated with various functions, as well as a host of other good information. Thank you so much for your dedication, participation and support of the National Women’s Conference, and without you, the event would not be the same. Why not make a commitment to invite someone who has never attended to next year’s Conference, so that they too may experience the lure of the event. This week in particular, let’s make an intentional effort to demonstrate that, “I Am My Sister’s Keeper”, as we all take part in “Nourishing Alliances and Positive Change.” May God bless us all, according to His gracious will. Our Mission The Women’s Department mission is to encourage women to exhibit a Christian character, teaching and reflecting modesty, while at the same time, promoting confident, educated, mature, and sensitive women to have a voice in the administrative business of the church organization. While times are changing, we are extremely proud, as women, of the foundation that we provide in our homes as wives and mothers, and seek to demonstrate continued dedication and commitment to nurture and support our families. Our objective is to build systems that generate unity, achievement, and integrity among women that will endure for generations to come. Through effective leadership and development, women have an opportunity to erase the limitations of the past, and forge ahead in sharing viable partnerships with all supporting arms of the church, that will ultimately have a positive impact on families and the general community in which we live.
