Bookmark Contest
Wed, April 1st– Fri, May 1st
The 17th Annual Bookmark Contest is here!
Children in Preschool through the 6th grade are
encouraged to create a bookmark entry based on
the 2015 summer theme of "Read to the Rhythm,"
with emphasis on all things music.
Judges will base their decisions on three criteria –originality, design and work that
reflects the summer reading program theme. Prizes will be awarded as follows: Preschool, Grades Kindergarten to 1, Grades 2 to 3, and Grades 4, 5, and 6.
First and second place winners in all categories will be reproduced in full color by Sir Speedy
and distributed throughout the parish at all locations of the Iberia Parish Library. First, second
and third place winners will receive an official 2015 Summer Reading Program T-shirt.
Entry forms will be available starting Wednesday, April 1.
Children may drop off their entries any time prior to Friday, May 1, 2015 at any branch of the
Iberia Parish Library. Call 364-7024 for more information.
A Tale of Two Towers
(Part Two)

For Part Two of our Garden Symposium, join us
for the installation of the second hydroponic
tower at St. Peter Branch Library. This seminar
will focus on healthier eating habits and how to
make nutritious, delicious meals with vegetables
from the BestLife garden projects. There will also be a plant swap for gardeners, but to
participate you have to bring a plant to take a plant. This session will close with a cooking
demo by BestLife Iberia Executive Chef Patrick Mould, who will be cooking up one of his
healthy BestLife Iberia Kitchen dishes. Learn, experience, and grow with your library.

ancient oaks that are in the
community all have a story to
tell. Join Iberia Parish Library for a leisurely bike ride
through town as we learn more about the history of the
oaks from horticulturist Jim Foret. Helmets are required for
the bike hike and children must be accompanied by an adult.
The program will be held from 8:30 a.m. to 11 a.m. on
Saturday, April 11 beginning at the Main Library, 445 E. Main
