March March is most noted for being the month of the Irish, with the celebration of St. Patrick’s Day. There are parades, parties, corned beef and cabbage, Irish soda bread, green beer and everyone is Irish for the day! March also highlights the peanut with National Peanut Month. It is also the month that brings us the hopes for the end of winter, by hosting the first day of spring. It is characterized by snow, rain and lots of wind, therefore it seems logical March is National Umbrella Month. In addition, we turn our attention to getting back into shape by observing National Nutrition Month. The theme for 2015 is “Bite into a Healthy Lifestyle”, which encourages everyone to focus on making informed food choices and daily exercise to promote overall good health. Since WWII, every president has designated March as “Red Cross Month”. It is a time to recognize the people who work hard and dedicate themselves to helping others. For the next several months we will highlight a different section of the Siena Village lease in the Village Voice. This month we will be focusing on Section 6: No Assignment of Subletting which reads “The Tenant may not do any of the following without the Landlord’s written consent: (a) assign this Lease, (b) sublet all or any part of the Apartment or (c) permit any other person to use the Apartment as a temporary guest with Management’s permission”. In plain English, what does that mean? Rosary 2:40pm Mass 3:00pm In the Library Wednesday, March 18 Book Club “Faith: The Novel” By Jennifer Haigh 1:30pm Library Simply put, Sections (a) and (b) means that the lease is only in the name(s) of the person(s) who signed the lease and cannot be transferred. Section (c) refers to a situation which happens quite often at Siena with visitors. While we welcome your family and friends, we require you to adhere to the following: Guests staying for more than three days/two nights need the permission of management. Guests may stay in an apartment for a total of 2 weeks per calendar year with the permission of management Guests in emergency situations need permission from management to stay at Siena Village for an extended period of time.
