(a)
The number of vacancies mentioned above is provisional. The Rashtriya Milit ary School, Chail reserves the right to
change the number of vacancies if necessary.
(b) Reservation for ex-servicemen fall under category of horizontal reservation which cut across vertical reservation i.e
reservation for SC/ST/OBC (in what is called interloc king reservation). The person selected against the E x-servicem an/PH
quota has to be placed in the appropriate category of general (unreserved), SC/ST/OBC as the case may be.

The upper age limit relax able for Govt Servant and ex-servicemen candidates as per

Crossed Indian Postal Order (IPO) of value Rs50/- (Rupees Fifty only) in favour of Rashtriya Military
School, Chail. Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PH and Ex-servicemen are exempted from
application fee. The Postal Order should be issued on or after the date of publication of the
advertisement. The application fee is non-refundable.
One recent passport size photograph (not more than three months old) is to be pasted on the space
earmarked in the application format. Besides, three additional photographs duly self-attested(on
front sid e) a re to be e nclos ed sep ar atel y with t he a ppl ication.
The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be the last date of receipt of application.

Scheme of Examination.
The selectio n will be m ad e strictly on the basis of merit. T he sel ection p rocess will c om prise o f

The qu es tion wil l be of 1 0th stan da rd a nd wo uld i nclud e qu estion s of nonverbal type. The test may include questions on analogies, similarities & differences, space visualization, problem solving,
analysis. Judgment, decision making visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, figure
classification, ar ithm etical num ber se ries, no n- ve rb al s eri es. The test wil l al so includ e qu estions d esi gne d to test the
candid ate’s abil ities to deal wit h abstract i deas and sym bols and t hei r relat ionshi p, arithm etic com putation and ot her
analytical functions.

whole numbers, decimals & fractions and relationship between numbers, fundamental arithmetic operations, percentage,
ratio & proportion, averages, interest, profit & loss, discount, use of table and graphs, mensuration, time & distance, ratio
& tim e, tim e & wo rk etc.

General English.
The questions wil l be of 1 oth standar d. Ca ndi dat e’s u n dersta ndi ng the b asics of English
lang ua ge. Its vocabul ar y, gram m ar, sentence structure, syn on ym s, antonym s and its corr ect usage, etc. His/her wr itin g
ability would also be tested.

T he q uestio ns will be of 1 0th standa rd. T he qu estions will be desi gne d to t est the abilit y o f
candid ate’s g ene ra l a war e ness of the en vi ro nm ent arou nd h im /her an d its app lic ation to societ y. Qu estions will also b e
designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of everyday observation and experience in their scientific
aspects as m ay be e xp ecte d of 10t h sta nd ar d e ducat e d p erso n. T he t est wi ll also incl ud e q uestio ns r elati n g to Indi a an d its
neighboring countries especially pertaining to sports, history, culture, geography, economic science, general policy
including Indian constitution and scientific research etc. These questions will be such that, they do not require a special
study of any discipline.

establishment that no disciplinary action is contemplated/pending against them and that they have no objection in releasing
them in case of selection.

New entrants to Government service, entering on or after 01 Jan 2004 are governed by the New Defined
Contribution Pension System (known as new pension scheme)
(e)
The Commandant/Principal shall not be responsible for any postal delay or failure.
(f)
The Commandant/Principal reserves the right not to fill up any or all the post(s) advertised and may change the
number of vacancies if necessary. The vacancies mentioned herewith are subject to increase/decrease/cancelled without
notice.
(g)
If the number of applications received in response is large and it will not be convenient or possible to arrange the
e xam inati on fo r all the c an didat es . The Command ant /Principal res erv es th e right to re stri ct th e numbe r of candida te s
to a reasonable limit on the basis of either percentage of marks obtained in the prescribed minimum essential
qualifications or qualifications higher than the minimum prescribed in the advertisement or experience. Therefore,
the candidates should mention all the qualifications over and above the minimum qualification and should attach attested
copies of the certificates in support thereof.

The candidates must clearly super scribe “Application for the post of …………………. on the top of the envelope in
capital letters”. The reserved category candidates including ex-servicemen and PH should also write their category on the
left hand corner of the envelope.

Ex-servicemen applying for the post should enclose ex-servicemen certificate issued by the competent authorities.

The Ex-servicemen candidates applying for the post under ex-servicemen category should also have to give an
undertaking in the format given below as Appendix-I.
(m)
Applications other than in the prescribed format, incomplete application, unsigned application, application without
required documents/testimonials, application not fulfilling the requisite criteria or application reaching after the closing
date by post/courier will be rejected and no correspondence in this regard will be entertained.
