D1 driving license, although full training and support will be a constant feature of your time with us.

The role of Early Years Manager is to oversee our Ultimate Activity Juniors programme offered on

Ferring Funtime pre-school requires a bank staff member to work term time, as and when required.
The pre-school is set in the grounds of Ferring C of E Primary School in Ferring Village. It welcomes
children from 2-5 years.
Bank staff will be expected to provide a high quality standard of teaching. They will do this by engaging
in appropriate play activities with the children, which will actively encourage their progress and extend
their learning. They will ensure the safety and wellbeing of the children at all times. Staff will provide a
safe environment for the children and adults in the pre-school by making sure that equipment is safe,
standards of hygiene are high and safety procedures are implemented at all times. The practitioner will
assist in the setting up and clearing away of the equipment. They will prepare snacks and be aware of
any specific children’s needs.
Experience working in a pre-school is essential, as is knowledge of the EYFS and COSHH. The
candidate must have good written and communication skills and a commitment to offer safe, high
quality education and care for pre-school children. The ability to work in a team and understand the
importance of confidentiality is crucial.

Early Years Practitioner
Qualifications: Level 3 Early Years qualification – essential
Hours: 30hrs basic p/w. Term time. Temporary
Salary: £7.46 p/h
An Early Years Practitioner is required to cover maternity leave. You must have previous experience of
working with young children and be friendly, with a flexible approach. The ability to move heavy
equipment and a firm commitment to young children & families are essential qualities for this role.
Before commencing, a health check will be required. You will work as a key person and as part of the
pre-school team under the direction of the pre-school leader to provide safe, high quality education
and care for young children.
Main duties:
1. To assist with the planning of the curriculum.
2. To help set up the room for the daily programme and to help tidy away at the end of the session.
3. To act as key person to a small group of children, liaising closely with parents/carers and ensuring
each child’s needs are recognised and met.
4. To advise the pre-school leader of any concerns e.g. over children, parents or the safety of the
equipment, preserving confidentiality as necessary.
5. To teach children, offering an appropriate level of support and stimulation.
6. To attend staff meetings held twice per half term at 8am.
7. To attend in-service training courses and meetings as required.
8. To keep completely confidential any information regarding the children, their families or other staff
which is required as part of the job.
9. To undertake any other reasonable duties as directed by the pre-school leader, in accordance with
the pre-school’s objectives.
N.B. This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. Applicants must be prepared to
disclose any convictions they may have and any orders which have been made against them.
