Our continued success as an Association is dependent on the loyalty
of our members. Tuscaloosa has LOYAL members! 89% of our
members who have been with us over the last two years are still with
us. That is huge!!! Thanks for your continued support of HBAT!
I am hoping one of the biggest reasons for such loyalty is that we at
HBAT are doing something right. Maybe it is “members doing
business other members”, HBAT providing the right education
seminars, or just simply HBAT, HBAA or NAHB providing that
“one thing” that makes a difference in your company operation.
Working closely with the HBAT Senior Officers and the Board of Directors, my goal in 2015 is to
actively seek ways to protect our financial future. We have come a long way since the downturn of
2008 and we need not look back, but continue to look ahead. We are currently on solid ground
financially and with your help we will continue to be. When you see opportunities to participate,
GET INVOLVED! We hope you do.

Changes At HBAT Office
In case you haven’t heard, Ron Parrish (HBAT Executive Officer) is
now the only staff person we have at HBAT. Ron will be managing
the operation of the Association as he guides me through my year as
HBAT President. Things will be a little different than in the past with
just one staff person, but the leadership feels confident that HBAT is in
good hands.
HBAT normal office hours are Monday through Friday 7:30 am to

Need A Small Office For Your Business? HBAT May Be Able To Help!
For a few years now the HBAT leadership has been discussing leasing one or two of the small
office spaces we have in the HBAT Office building. The HBAT Board of Directors feel now is
the time to open this lease opportunity to any of our HBAT members who are in need of office
space, but just need a small office for their business. If you think this may be something you are
interested in, please give Ron a call at the HBAT Office so we can sit down and discuss this with
you in detail.

Do you know of any local 2015 high school graduates looking to enroll in a residential construction
-related curriculum either at college or technical school? HBAT Charities, Inc. was formed in 2011
to provide scholarships to deserving students pursuing a level of higher education in a housing
industry related field. Such fields of study may include, but are not limited to, architecture, building
science, cabinetry, carpentry, drafting, electrical, HVAC, masonry, plumbing, or other housing
related studies. Scholarship recipients must be a resident of Tuscaloosa County or contiguous
counties. Applications are available at the HBAT Office.
