Hello College Royal Visitors!
Welcome to our 2015 event!
A
Royal Welcome
Welcome to the
University of Guelph and to our
91st annual College Royal.
I
would like to extend to
everyone visiting campus a
very warm welcome and a sincere
thank you for taking part in 91
years of history here at Guelph!
Run every year since 1925,
this is the largest university
open house of its kind in North
America. The event is run entirely
by students and attracts thousands
of visitors for a look at the many
offerings and qualities that make
University of Guelph unique.
Across all seven of our colleges,
we bring research and scholarship
to life. As an innovative research
institution, we are an economic
engine for the province.
Before arriving on campus
last summer, I already knew
of Guelph’s strong reputation
for research, teaching and
community service. I continue
to be amazed by the depth and
breadth of what goes on here. I
hope you will get a sense of what
makes the University of Guelph
stand out.
Enjoy your time on our campus!
• Dr. Franco J. Vaccarino
President and Vice-Chancellor
University of Guelph
College Royal means so much
not only to me, but also to the
campus itself. With collaboration
and representation from every
branch of the university, it
is wonderful to see such a
monumental event be so welcomed
by the Guelph community each
and every year.
Of course this event could
not hope to succeed without the
incredible effort put forth by our
own volunteer executive and
faculty advisors, as well as the
other students who organize their
own club displays for the public to
enjoy. I would also like to voice
my gratitude to all of our amazing
donors within the university and
beyond, without which we could
not possibly hope to continue this
tradition.
Thank you again for making
College Royal part of your own
tradition, help us now by hitting this
year’s Open House out of the park!
