Messages from Mrs Eveleigh….
A super afternoon was had by the cage footballers on
Monday, who skills improved as they played. Several
children had not played this version of football before
and we came 2nd out of 5 teams. A super result and we
go onto to the finals next week! Good luck team. Please
note that Uffculme have now advised a finish time of
5.30pm not 6pm.
Class 2 and Class 3 had a great visit to Wildside near
Hemyock today. Activities included, making fires,
learning about survival during the Stone Age and playing
outdoor games. Thank you to those parents who were
able to help with transport. A big thank you also for
those parents who drove for Class 1’s visit to Blundell’s,
the children had a super few weeks developing their
skills.
On behalf of the School Council, thank you so much for
your yummy cakes and dressing up. We will let you know
our Red Nose Appeal final total next week.
Look out for messages about our Solar eclipse plans for
next Friday 20th March, we are still finalising our
arrangements- the children will need wellies!
Good luck to Jessica Grant who is taking part in the
National Pony Club Winter Triathlon Finals, at Milton
Keynes on Sunday. Jessica will be shooting turning
targets from 7 metres, running 1000 metres as fast as
she can, and swimming as far as possible in 2 minutes.
She qualified last November, and has been training hard
since then.
Mothering Sunday services are all around our villages
and it would be wonderful if the churches are full with
young people and their families. As a school we are
singing at All Saint’s church in Holcombe at 11am.
Children don’t need to wear uniform and are invited to
sing our Love is kind song during the service.
Kindest regards,
Deborah Eveleigh
Executive Headteacher

Sustainable Villages News
Repair Café: The cafe is proving to be needed and successful! It is open on the second Saturday of each month
from 10am until noon, so the next two dates are: 14th March and 11th April. Do come along with your items to
be repaired. Based at the Market Centre, Tiverton. (Youth Drop in Centre)
Give or Take
Sustainable Villages are running another Give or Take event, on April 16 th, 17th, 18th, 10am till 3.00pm, at
Tiverton Pannier Market. Past events have been very successful and popular. If you are planning a clear out,
don’t take it to the tip, bring it to our stall, at Tiverton market, on those days. Things that you don’t want may
be exactly what other people are looking for. No clothes. Big items can be advertised on our board.
Likewise, many people have found items that they need, and can take them for FREE. Come and have a look. No
money changes hands. The idea is to stop items going to landfill.
