Third Annual Shrimp Boil & Auction
Saturday, April 25, 6:00 to 8:30 p.m., Schultz Hall
If you come to the Shrimp Boil just for the food and fellowship, you won’t be disappointed,
but the highlight will be the great buys at the Silent Auction.
Our search for auction items is in full swing, and we need your help now to make this year’s
auction better than ever. Are you connected to others here at church in a prayer group, book
club, study group, music group or cadre of volunteers? How about a board or committee? Why
not band together and brainstorm ideas for a donation you can make or purchase? It could be a
gift basket, services, restaurant gift certificates. . .let your imagination soar!
Please contact Brian Thompson ([email protected]) if you have an auction item
or auction questions.

Save the Date! Pancake Breakfast and Easter Egg Hunt April 4!
“Hop” on over to this “egg-citing” annual pancake feast in Schultz Hall where “every bunny” is invited!
We’ll begin serving pancakes at 9:00 a.m. with a second seating available after the kids join
Peter Rabbit at 9:45 a.m. for an Easter Egg Hunt, rain or shine. This all-ages event is
sponsored by the Junior High Fellowship and the Youth Board to benefit the Senior High
Mission Trip fund. Your suggested donation of $5 per person (family maximum of $25) is
much appreciated! Attention Flapjack Flippers & Syrup Slingers! We need your help!
We are looking for Junior and Senior High students, parents, alumni or anyone else who’d
like to help us with this tasty fundraiser. Interested? Contact Cheryl Zalewski 860-930-9506. Thanks!
You Can SHARE in the Youth Mission Trip Experience
We encourage everyone in the First Church family to support this year’s youth mission trip to Biloxi,
MS, in April by purchasing “Shares” for $20 each. This is a great way to participate in our mission
outreach and there is no limit to the number you can buy! You’ll receive a share certificate and be
included in our year-end report to shareholders of mission activities. Your donation will be included
in your First Church giving statement. Stop by the Youth table TODAY during Common Fellowship!
Let All That You Do Be Done
in Love – A Lenten Series:
Reaching Out with Love to
People of Different Faiths
March 18, 6:00-8:00 p.m.
On Wednesday, March 18, Glastonbury
High School students representing diverse
faith traditions will share their experience as
people of faith in a diverse, suburban high
school community. Glastonbury, unlike many
communities, is a pluralistic town with a rich
variety of faith traditions. The school
system is one place where that
diversity is lived out on a daily basis.
Come hear the different perspectives
The
Interfaith Friendship and faith experiences of some of
Initiative
Glastonbury’s high school youth!
Our dinner hosts will be the Interfaith Friendship
Initiative and the Board of Youth Ministry. Please
call the church office at 860-633-4641 to sign up.

Prayer Shawl Ministry March 16
Knitters and crocheters will gather on Monday,
March 16, from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. in the Lehman
Library for knitting and fellowship. If you are new
to knitting, one of our members will be able to
help. Yarn is available, just bring along a pair of
#13 needles and we will get you started. All are
welcome to come and join us. If you have any
questions call Co-Coordinators Nancy Pacht at
860-659-3935 or Liz Webb at 860-593-7831.
Women’s Theological Group
We invite all interested First Church women to
join us on the third Wednesday of each month
(March 18!) to discuss a variety of faith questions,
reflect on our personal journeys and share friendship
and community. In the past, we discussed prayer,
healing, faith journeys, doing justice, finding quiet
time, our addiction to hurrying, and gratitude. We
often circulate short articles of interest to those who
attend, but there is no homework - the resources
we share are for those who wish to learn more about
the topic before we meet. We hope to see you at one
of our gatherings from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. in
the Lehman Library. Please contact Lynn Baronas at
860-543-3301 or [email protected] with questions.
Mission Day in Hartford April 25
For the third year in a row, on National Rebuilding
Day, a team from First Church will perform repairs
on a home in Hartford. Join our team for a free
lunch, a t-shirt, your photo with the Homeowners,
new friends and a lot of fun. The work scope includes
carpentry, plumbing, electrical, yard work, trash
removal and more. Our work crew number is
limited so reserve your spot now by contacting Dave
Liscinsky at [email protected] or 860-8163708, or Bruce Fleahman at [email protected],
or Jim O’Brien at [email protected].
Munson’s Candy Order Pick Up
Munson’s candy orders will be available for pick-up in Schultz Hall on Sunday, March 22. Various
Easter Candies will also be for sale for those who did not have the opportunity to pre-order.

words of preparation, and then proceed in silence
to Schultz Hall for readings, the meal, and the
Sacrament of Holy Communion. Participants eat in
