Orientation will be closed to instructors
Purpose: To evaluate each contestant’s preparation for employment and to recognize outstanding students for
excellence and professionalism in the field of precision machining technology.
Clothing: Acceptable work clothes (button short sleeve shirt and pants) and leather shoes, no sweats.
Students with long hair must use a hair net. Unsafe attire/actions may result in student not competing until
properly/safely dressed. No school names may be displayed on any apparel.
Contestants: 1 per school based pre-registration in December with SkillsUSA Ohio.
Please note this is an Ohio only competition and winners will not advance to the National Leadership and Skills
Conference. Medalist will be invited to the Awards Ceremony on April 15, 2015 in Columbus for recognition.
Scope of the Contest
The contest will be judged based on the criteria established in the 2015-2016 SkillsUSA
Championships Technical Standards.

NOTES:
1. All contestants must have at least one each of the following Lathe tool bits.
Threading
Turning
Facing
2. Sinclair will provide 1/8" Parting Tool
3. Shop rags and cutting oil will be provided.
4. All machine accessories will be provided.
5. No carbide tooling will be used for this contest.
6. Contestants cannot wear clothing or hats that contain the name
of their school.
7. A Standard Scientific Calculator will be provided for the
written/math test. Machinists Calculators will not be permissible on
this test.
