NATO EXERCISE “TRIDENT JUNCTURE 2015”
The high visibility Exercise TRIDENT JUNCTURE is the flagship activity of NATO post AFGHANISTAN. It serves multiple purposes. Main focus is training the multinational forces of the NATO RESPONSE FORCE for 2016 (NRF 16) in a challenging, highly kinetic, contemporary environment. In
addition it serves as continuum to certify Joint Force Command BRUNSSUM as HQs for NRF 16. The
CCOE supports the exercise with its expertise in the role as Officer Directing the Exercise (ODE) for
CMI/CIMIC. The focus is to provide a realistic and challenging scenario for the Training Audience to
Improve the learning output from this collective training event.

NATO CIMIC Awareness Course
(NCAC)
This e-learning course is considered to be the entry to the world of NATO CIMIC. CCOE offers free access for
everybody, no costs! The NCAC can be processed within a day or split in several sections. The purpose of this
course is to provide comprehensive awareness and basic knowledge of NATO CMI/CIMIC for anyone (potentially)
involved in CMI/CIMIC activities, or for the ones who have a vested interest in CMI/CIMIC activities.
NATO CIMIC Field Worker Course
(NCFWC)
The two weeks course enables participants, Officers and NCOs, assigned as CIMIC Field Worker’s, to conduct CIMIC
activities across the full spectrum of military engagement in a modern operational environment, up to and including
corps/component command level.
NATO CIMIC Staff Worker Course
(NCSWC)
The two weeks course enables participants, Officers and NCOs, who are or will be appointed as CIMIC
Staff Worker’s, to conduct CIMIC activities across the full spectrum of military engagement in a modern
operational environment, up to and including corps/component command level.
NATO CIMIC Liaison Course
(NCLC)
The main purpose of this course is to further qualify CIMIC Operators, Officers, and NCOs, assigned as CIMIC
Liaison Officers, to conduct CIMIC LNO activities at tactical/operational level across the full spectrum of military
engagement in a complex operational environment. The secondary purpose is to create awareness and comprehension for those organizations and individuals who have a vested interest in CIMIC LNO activities.
NATO CIMIC Functional Specialist Course
(NCFSC)
The one week course raises CIMIC awareness of Functional Specialists with a vast experience in
their area of expertise. On completion, the participants are able to understand the implications of
their work for the CIMIC environment as well as the contribution of CIMIC to the overall military mission as vital part of a comprehensive approach in mission areas.
NATO CIMIC Integrated Functional Specialist Course
(NCIFSC)
The main purpose of this course is to enable all participants, who are or will be appointed as CIMIC Functional specialist, to conduct CIMIC Functional Specialist activities across the full spectrum of military engagement
in a modern operational environment, up to and including corps/component command level. The secondary
purpose is to indicate the interconnection between CIMIC and the different areas of civil expertise. This
course is dedicated to those CIMIC Functional Specialists who are or will be tasked to perform also general
activities.
NATO CMI/CIMIC Higher Command Course
(NCHCC)
The two weeks course enables CMI/CIMIC personnel (OF 3 - OF 6) from Strategic, Joint Force and Component Command Level and equivalent non NATO and non military personnel, to conduct CMI/CIMIC activities
across the full spectrum of military engagement in a modern conflict situation or in a humanitarian relief
operation, to assess the political-military context, to interact with all parties within a conflict situation and to
contribute with CMI/CIMIC functional expertise to the planning and other staff processes.
Supporting Humanitarian Action in Responding to Emergencies & Disasters (SHARED) Course
The SHARED course is designed to equip military personnel with the minimum awareness and understanding of humanitarian action, actors, coordination architecture, planning cycle, coordination platforms and tools, the United Nations Humanitarian Civil-Military Coordination (UN-CMCoord) function, and the existing guidelines on the use of mobilizing and
employing military and civil defence assets in natural disasters and complex emergencies.
