Chaverim & Kadima Chocolate Passover Seder
Sunday, March 29, 1:15-3:30 PM
Celebrate Passover in a very non-traditional way…at a table set with all things chocolate! Students in grades 3-8 are invited to join us at the Temple for a
mock seder where we will dip strawberries in chocolate for maror, eat green M&M’s for the karpas, and drink four cups of chocolate milk instead of wine!
Pizza will be served! Chaverim & Kadima Member: FREE. Not-Yet Chaverim or Kadima Member: $5.00. Please RSVP by Monday, March 23 To Emily
Halpern at [email protected] or Rabbi Smiley at [email protected].
Service of the First Born*
Friday, April 3, 8:00 AM
Since the Angel of Death “passed over” the first born of the Israelites in Egypt on the eve of the liberation from bondage, it is traditional for first born
men and women to fast the day before Passover. In order to break their fast early in the day, it is customary to hold a brief prayer service as well
as a text study called a siyyum, which is then celebrated with food. In this manner the fast is brief. First born men and women of all ages (as well as
anyone else) are invited to join us. We will also “burn the chametz” that remains in our synagogue in preparation for Passover. The service will be led
by Rabbi Sagal (first born!).
