Salient Features
of The School
Asha Jyoti Vidypeeth is an English medium coeducational school with facilities and provision to
teach all subjects prescribed by the Central Board
of Secondary Education with an integrated
approach.
It provides all round education to boys and girls in a
holistic manner.
The Environment
The lush green lawns of the school, the play way zone of the pre
primary are welcoming to the tiny tots.
The school is based on the CCE pattern of the CBSE. The school is
spread out in a vast expanse of 10 acres which has been designed
as child friendly, safe environmentally invigorating. The school lies
in a pollution free zone and once the students enter the walls of
the school they are in a space created purely for them.
The well qualified staff and experienced faculty impart education
and guidance to the children and help build up their self
confidence, prepare them for their future careers as well as to
inculcate in them basic values which are important for self
development and good citizenship. In addition the school
functions smoothly with the help of the contractual staff, office
staff and the support staff.
In the first year the school opens admissions from pre nursery to
class VII. The school is largely divided into three wings. The Pre
Primary, Primary and Middle school.
It has trained teachers specialized in different fields
of learning who can give guidance and impart
valuable knowledge to each and every child of the
institution.
The entire school campus has been equipped with
close circuit / CCTV facility to keep a vigil over all
activities in every corner of the school.
The school is imparting computer education to all
students with well maintained computer labs, smart
classes & interactive classrooms.
The school is abundantly rich in training aids,
scientific, educational and play ground apparatus
besides providing all facilities for giving training in
arts & crafts, music, Indian & Western dance.
ACADEMICS
At the pre-primary level, educational
programs based on Montessori
philosophy and method are followed.
There are large equipped training halls,
where the tiny tots learn in an informal
way with the help of specially designed
apparatus under the guidance of trained
and experienced teachers. Special
attention is paid to facilities the physical,
mental, emotional and social growth of
the child through a series of well
coordinated activities.
Our Nursery is our pride and is
synonymous with quality education. All
the activities here are developed to assist
each child to awaken and activate his/ her
mental capacity. Our Montessori wing
provides specially designed rich learning
material and scope for creative activities
such as reading, painting, storytelling,
dressing up, scribbling boards jumbles
jigsaws, building blocks, finger painting,
clay modeling, paper tearing, folding,
pasting etc. The classroom & furniture
are designed as per the comfort & needs
of the tiny tots.
The children have a large number of toys
to play & learn with. The school follows a
Montessori play way method of learning
in the kindergarten section. This is
further supported by audio visual
teaching aids of electronic media. The
expanse in the initial years is to provide
maximum exposure to students through
activities, celebrations and expanses.
MIDDLE
There is an extension and further consolidation of
the educational program that starts at primary
stage. Besides the academic subjects, a third
language is taught from class VI to VII. Students are
encouraged to participate in creative arts such as
Dance, Music and Craft. Smart boards and
interactive boards add to the quality of lessons in
classes VI and VII. The CBSE initiative to CCE has
been taken up.
HEALTH & NUTRITION
PRIMARY
At this stage formal teaching of academic subjects such as English, Hindi, Mathematics and EVS is
introduced. Stress is laid on balanced and harmonious development based on a judicious mix of
academic, creative art, physical education, yoga, educational tours, excursions and outings.
The progressive curriculum is as such which allows students to grow from grass root level into
well groomed personalities. Pupil realizes their individual potentials become independent in
thought and action and identify how to support others whistle also learning to value themselves.
The curriculum aims at spreading fitness and promoting sports, culture among students through
the various facilities provided to the students.
The school is extremely particular about the health
and fitness of its students. It is often felt that children
do not eat a very healthy diet at home and are into
snacks or fast food to quite an extent. The school
has evolved a unique way to combat this.
The school provides a menu for the entire year in
the school planner to the parents in the beginning of
the sessions. All the children carry the food as per
the “menu of the day”. The teacher helps children
lay out their table mats and place their lunch on it.
They are helped to eat lunch with complete table
manners and learn the appropriate use of spoons,
knives and forks alongside. They are permitted to
play after that.
The menu has been devised by a dietician complete
with the salads and fruits and each meal takes care of
the complete and balanced need of nutrition of the
child. Thus while children learn to eat all vegetables
and fruits, the school also ensures one nutrient rich
balanced meal in the day.
PHYSICAL TRAINING
GAMES & SPORTS
Asha Jyoti Vidyapeeth is designed to be school that
caters to the needs of young students in the fast
faced world of today.
Morning physical training and drill is conducted every
Wednesday and Saturday under the supervision of qualified
instructor. Facilities of various games and sports viz. Athletics,
Badminton, Cricket, Table Tennis, Volley ball, Yoga & Chess
etc. are available besides a well equipped children park.
The school takes special care of physical health and games
and supports activities by providing the required
infrastructural facilities and coach for the game.
LIBRARY
The school has a well stocked library
where it maintains the ratio of books as
per CBSE guidelines. There is a separate
section of reference books, journals and
magazines. The library also has provision
for e-books.
IT ENABLED
CLASSROOMS
ART &
CRAFT ROOM
The laboratories are well equipped with
the latest generation of the computers
and printers. Smart boards have been
provided in classrooms to enhance the
quality of teaching and learning. In
addition the library is from pre primary to
the senior most class.
The art room in the school caters to
the creativity skill needs of different
departments. The room is tastefully
decorated with drawings /
paintings/ artifacts prepared by the
students and are the hub of students
and teachers to express and hone
their artistic abilities.
MUSIC &
DANCE ROOM
The school has provision for well
equipped vocal music, instrumental
music and dance rooms at its
campus where the students are
trained in various forms of
performing arts.
MEDICAL FACILITIES
In case of serious illness parents are informed immediately
so that they can provide specialist treatment to their wards
at their own expense. Temporarily sick students are taken
care in the medical room. In case of emergency the child is
rushed to Sarvodya Hospital, Sector-8.
Routine Health checkups of students are undertaken in the
school itself and a record maintained.
ADMISSION PROCESS
The Facility of Transport
The school academic year is from April to March. Admissions are granted during other months
also depending upon the availability of seats. Admission for Pre-Nursery to K.G classes will be
through observation / interactions only. There will be a written test / interview for students
seeking admission in other classes.
School transport is available for convenience of students. However, this is only a facility available and
is separately chargeable. It is not obligatory for the school and maybe withdrawn. Incase of constraint.
ADMISSION TEST
The children who have registered will have to appear for an admission test ( Class I onwards),
which may be written or oral as laid down by the school for different levels. Syllabus for the
admission test, which is based on child's present class is available in the office and supplied on
request. The selection of the candidate will depend upon their performance in the test/interview
and availaibilty of seats in the concerned class. The Principal reserves the right to refuse admission
to any child without furnishing reason.

Students offered admissions must enclose the
following documents with admission form:?
Birth certificate for the students seeking admission for
pre-nursery to K.G.
?
Students seeking admission for class I onwards, need
to submit school-leaving-certificate from the previous
school, which should be a recognized school, affiliated
to All India Board or State Board of Education have to
be signed by DEO if transferred from other state.

Admission to the school implies on the part of student
and parents willingness to comply with the
requirements, rules & regulations of the school.
