Eligibility
• B.Tech / B.E (All branches).
• Duration of this program is 2 years
Application & Entrance Test
• Admissions are based on an entrance test conducted from May 23rd,
2015
OR
• Walk-in Entrance Tests conducted from April 16th to May 22nd 2015
• You have to apply on line at www.msitprogram.net
• MSIT (Master of Science in Information Technology ) is a full time,
post graduate program in Computer Science offered at various
learning centers since 2001.
– Currently it is being offered in IIIT-H ,JNTUH, JNTUK and JNTUA
What is GAT & Walk-in
GAT : The GAT test is Computer based except Section 3 (writing Essay
on one topic) for 10 marks. The online MSIT GAT test will consist of
90 multiple choice questions and 1 essay writing to be answered in
150 minutes for a total of 100 marks.
Section I : Critical Reading ( 30 Marks )
Section II : Quantitative ability ( 40 Marks )
Section III : Writing ( 30 Marks )
Walk-in and GAT are same and both are computer based tests.
Only difference is in walk-in you can write on your convenient dates
whereas GAT is on a fixed date. If you write both then we will
consider the best of both.

Entrance Test Process
• Stage I : GAT Test conducted at various locations Hyderabad,
Warangal, Vijayawada, Kakinada, Anatapur, Vishakhapatnam &
Tirupati.
• Stage II : listening comprehension test.
Exemptions
• Candidates who have taken GRE after July, 2012 are exempted
from the entrance test if they have a score of 275/2.5
• Those candidates with TOEFL score above 79/120 (IBT) or IELTS
with 6.0 or above Score would be exempted from taking the
Listening Comprehension test in the stage II of the entrance test
(TOEFL / IELTS should have been taken after July 2013) .
• Counseling session to choose the learning center.
• And 5 week preparatory program which students have to clear with
80%.

Overview
• Is a full time, post graduate program in
Computer Science offered at various
learning centers since 2001.
– Currently it is being offered in IIIT-H ,JNTUH,
JNTUK MSIT and JNTUA
• Offered in learning by doing pedagogy,
with project centered curriculum.
Learning by doing
• Emphasis is on learning the concepts by
doing / solving.
– This is in sync with a Chinese proverb :
 “You hear you forget, you see you remember, you
do you understand.”
• Projects and modules are created such
that students understand concepts and
learning objectives while solving the
problems.
Project centered
• Each course is offered as a project, which is divided into modules
that are implemented by students.
• Projects are aligned with the course learning objectives.
• Examples:
– Project for data structures course is mini Google search engine.
– Project for data bases is airline reservation system.
• Each week will have 10 modules organized in learning management
systems (mediawiki and moodle).

• Sequential learning, one course at a time for focused and immersive
learning.
• All the courses are offered in learning by doing and project centered
curriculum.

• Digital lectures from CMU and other reputed universities.
• Assessment mechanisms
– Vivas, programming contests, quizzes, concept tests, final exam
etc.
• 70% pass percentage through out.
• Six mini semesters in each academic year.
– Each mini semester is for 8 weeks duration.
– 2 months practicum in first year and 6 months practicum in
second year.
Preparatory program
• First mini semester of MSIT program, for a
period of 8 weeks.
– Students will have to clear this mini semester with
80% or more.

• Constitutes about 15% of MSIT
Curriculum
• Every mini semester consists of 1
credit for soft skills.
• Soft skills (writing assignments,
presentation skills, and comprehension
etc. ) have continuous credits and are
part of daily schedule.
Infrastructure
• Dedicated 24 hour lab facilities with full
time high speed internet connectivity.
• Every student is provided with dedicated
laptop and workstations.
• Digital lectures from CMU and other
reputed universities.

Timings
• Six day a week, and 48 weeks in a year
with only 4 weeks of vacation per
academic year.
• Students work on IT modules between
9:00AM and 6:00PM.
– Soft skills continuous credits are
scheduled between 6:00PM and
8:00PM.
• MSIT is a residential program in IIIT-H and
JNTUA.
