As joint Director David and I are very proud to introduce KD
Group. With well over a decade of experience in all aspects of
Mechanical & Electrical services, we carry a lot of credentials
wherever we go.
As a family business together with a professional but friendly

Our Company & Team
History
KD Group was established in 2003 by David Staunton and Kieran Staunton. Our head office is based
in Castlebar, Co.Mayo. The business has steadily expanded over the years which led to us opening an Office in
2011 in Fonthill Business Park, Dublin.
We are currently operating on a variety of projects providing high standards of Mechanical Installations. The
company’s success is based upon its reputation for building many exclusive developments over the years.
We are a rapidly growing company dedicated in exceeding client’s expectations. This has resulted in an
impressive client list in the construction services sector. We can guarantee completing projects efficiently, on
time and within budget.
Over the years the company has developed a highly skilled and professional workforce delivering the highest

KD Group Online
All KD Group Employees have access to the KD Server where all documentation is stored. eg Projects,
Drawings, Specifications, ISO Management, H&S etc.
The Server is located in the main Office in Mayo and all site offices can connect to this server via their
Laptops using their Internet connection supplied.
Each KD Employee has their own Individual username and password and can store their files from site on the
server in their own individual folders.
Common Data Environment –KD Group has experience using a "Common Data Environment" while working
on Portlaoise Hospital last year KD Mechanical used the HSE DMS (Document Management System)
throughout the entire project.
KD Group has also other methods of Storing and sending Files via Dropbox & Google Drive. These are mainly
used for large document sizes that are too large to send via email.

KD Group attended a special Presentation Ceremony and Gala Dinner in the
Mullingar Park Hotel, Co Westmeath on the 3rd of October 2015 to pick up their
Prestigious Award from the NISO / NISG Twenty Third Annual Occupational Safety Awards.

Education 3rd Level
NUIG – Hardiman Library
Description
This project was the extension of the library
which is a protected structure and was carried
out in a Live University Campus. We carried out
the full mechanical installation on this project
which included the heat centre, air handling
units, chillers, extract fans, close control units,
fan coil units, AC units, natural gas installation,
trench heating, domestic water installation,
ventilation installation, soils & wastes, and fitting
sanitary ware. We also so connected new
services into the existing services in the building.
NUIG – Life Course Building
Description:
The project scope includes the provision of the
complete mechanical services installation to the
New Life Course Institute Facility building for NUIGalway, Upper Newcastle road, Corrib Village,
Galway. The work comprises of the installation of
heating, chilled water, ventilation, water services,
BMS controls, soils and wastes and gas services
installations
University Limerick – Tierney Building
Description:
The project comprised of the construction of a new
5 Storey office Building with two Science
Laboratories, the services included,
Heat Centre, LPHW Heating Installation, Domestic
Water Installation, Air Conditioning, Ventilation, Soils
& Wastes and Sanitary ware installation.
Mechanical Services in the two laboratories include
installation of Fume cupboards, Bio Safety
Cabinets, Cold Rooms and Lab Gases, water services
and fume extract ventilation.

Commercial
KPMG- Dockgate Galway
Description
The project entails the partial fit-out of a section
of the Second Floor of the Dockgate Building in
Dock Road, Galway
The mechanical services contract includes for
the strip-out of the existing Daikin VRV air
conditioning system. This will involve de gasing
and allowing for the safe disposal of same. The
internal and external units and any controls are
to be stripped out in a careful manner and
presented to the Landlord for their possible reuse. The system in the remainder of the 2nd
floor is to be left intact and operational.
The intent is to reuse where possible any of the
existing services
Westport Town Hall
Description
The project consists of concert hall, exhibition
space, landlord office area, plantrooms, roof top
serviced area, control and tech rooms, meeting
rooms, stores.
The mechanical services consists of the supply,
installation and commissioning of the following:

Portlaoise Midlands Regional Hospital
Description
The project was carried out on a live Hospital
while maintaining existing operations. The
Mechanical Services on this project were,
Removal of existing services, Installation of
Ahu's Ventilation & Air Conditioning, Heating
Centre (Boiler house), Medical Gasses, Soils
and waste, Water Services, Space Heating,
Controls installation including BMS upgrade,
Fire Extinguishers.
St James Hospital
Description
This Project consists of the Fit out of a Hospital
wing of a live Hospital. The Mechanical consisted of
Medical Gases installation, Radiant services
Domestic Water services and Ventilation, all tying
into the existing services.
Croi House Galway
Description
This project was the construction a new
research facility. We carried out the full
Mechanical Installation on the project which
included the heat
centre, space heating, domestic water,
ventilation, heat recovery units and
air conditioning including gas fired heat pumps.

Bord Gais – Chiller Replacement
Description
The project involves the replacement of an
existing air cooled water chiller located on the
roof of Bord Gais building at Foley Street, Dublin.
The key areas of work are as follows:
Removal of the existing chiller from site and safe
disposal of same,
Installation of permanent chiller including all
necessary pipework and electrical modifications,
Installation of new primary pumps and
pressurisation unit,
Testing & Commissioning.
Ennis Community College
Description
New space heating system to include radiators and two pipe
heating distribution system
· New gas fired boilers and flue header.
· New heating controls including frost protection, weather
compensation and zone controls
· Replacement boiler house control panel and all associated
electrical works
· Removal and disposal of all redundant services
· New gas installation and gas detection services.
· Testing & commissioning.
· All associated builder’s works and making good and
redecoration to match existing building
Kells Swimming Pool
Description
This project was the installation of Energy
Improvement measures in the existing Leisure Centre
and Swimming Pool. KD Mechanical were the main
Contractors and PSCS for this project
The Mechanical Installation Included new gas boilers,
new gas water heaters and new gas fired cabinet
heater, KD converted everything to natural gas.
KD also installed solar panels new BMS controls new
ventilation ducting and replaced the extract fans
Electrical work included new lighting installation to the
pool area.

Roscommon Leisure Centre
Description
This project was the installation of Energy
Improvement measures in the existing Leisure
Centre and swimming pool. KD Mechanical were
the Main Contractor and PSCS for this project.
The Mechanical Installation included new rain
water harvesting system with 75,000L over
ground tank and connecting pipework;
Installation of solar panels on pool roof and
connection to 800L pre-heat tank.

boiler house for connection to Energy
Cabin.

BIM Projects
KD Group implementing BIM
KD Group has seen an increase in demand for BIM to be implemented on projects by our clients and we
have also realised the benefits of BIM. These benefits include reducing the cost, time and uncertainty of
design and construction. KD Group has implemented BIM and Revit MEP into the company for all future
projects. We employed the services of Amicus Technology to train our Contracts Managers and Project
Managers to use BIM and Revit MEP.
Our company in the last year has seen the great benefits from this software and our Senior Coordinator
Stephen Rogan has shown these benefits in the YouTube link above which is of the University of Cork, The
Assert Centre coordinated into a BIM Model Video.
Our Managers will be able to meet each week with other parties on the project in order to watch a three
dimensional visualisation of all of the site works planned for the following week and can discuss coordination, collaboration and safety management informed by this visualisation of the next week’s
activities.
