The 2015 Terry Foundation Scholarship Application is now available!

Terry Foundation Transfer Scholarship Program
The Terry Foundation Transfer Scholarship Program provides scholarships for up to three (3)
years to outstanding transfer students who show promise for being future leaders of Texas.
Established in 1986 by Houston philanthropists Nancy & Howard Terry, the Foundation has
assisted hundreds of Terry Scholars in meeting the founder’s goal of helping young people to
help themselves.
To be considered for the Terry Scholars Program at TWU, students are selected based on three
criteria: (1) leadership potential and character; (2) scholastic record and ability; (3) demonstrate
financial need.
Texas Woman’s University is now accepting Terry Foundation Transfer Scholarship applications
for the 2015- 2016 academic year. From the application received, a select number of students
will be interviewed by TWU faculty/staff. And a select number will be nominated and their
applications will be forwarded to the Foundation for review and final interview by Foundation
representatives. Please know that TWU serves as a nominating body only; all final decisions
regarding Terry Foundation Scholarships awards and award amounts are made by the Terry
Foundation.
Terry Transfer Scholarship totals $13,000 per academic year and is renewable for up to three
academic years. The Terry Scholarship is awarded only to students who will physically attend
the university. Students taking only online courses are not eligible. In any given semester, a
majority of a Scholar’s courses must be taken through physical attendance.
In addition to the academic continuing scholarship requirements, the successful TWU Terry
Scholar will need to be prepared to be actively involved in campus activities. A special TWU
Terry Scholar Student Organization will offer recipients the opportunity to develop a
community service agenda and mentor incoming scholars. Scholars will also have the
opportunity to participate in various academic, social, and cultural events offered by the
Office of Student Life and the TWU Terry Scholars Program.
