Brrr it has been cold and nasty outside leading up
to the February club meeting. Many members still had
several inches of snow and ice to deal with at their homes.
However, we had a good turnout for the “by-laws”
meeting and discussion of the upcoming events (see Gary’s
meeting minutes).
But, the weather is a changin’ and March is a busy
month for our members as the 2015 show season begins.
We have members committed to three major events in
March from Indy to the Big Easy.
The Indy Cylinder Head swap meet is March 7th
t
h
and 8 . The club will have tables at this event with Wayne
Hall and Stan Hardcastle coordinating for us.
The Big Easy Mopar Association and Hunters
Custom Car Show follow the next weekend (March 14th).
Jim Peach has worked with Hunters and club members to
fill the “Mopar” room again! Thanks to Jim and all the
members who registered to show at this annual event. For
the New Orleans Show, Mike Wilkins is on point and we
currently have seven members and spouses planning to
make the trip. We look forward to supporting Paul and
their BEMA event.
And the BIG club event is March 22nd … our 25th
Anniversary Club Celebration! David Denney will host this
event at his home and we will have burgers, hot dogs,
birthday cake and the great sides you bring. Again, Linda
Price will coordinate the sides and get your commitment to
attend. This will be a great opportunity to invite past
members to join the celebration and to re-engage with the
club. Weather permitting, please drive and share your
Mopars at this meeting. Let’s make this the highest
attendance meeting ever!
I still want to hear your thoughts on topics for our
“how to” sessions and other ways we can help share
information, skills, tools, etc. with members seeking to
restore or maintain their Mopar.
Thanks again for your attendance and
participation in the February meeting.

Meeting Minutes from Gary Garner
Greetings fellow Music City Mopar Club members,
The February club meeting was held Feb. 22nd at Jim and
Nicks' BBQ in Murfreesboro. We had a good turnout
considering the weather during the week and, as always,
the food was excellent.
Murfreesboro, TN
Club President Donny Lippard brought the
meeting to order and the first item was approval of the
minutes of the January meeting.
Next up for discussion was the possibility of
creating a board of directors or an advisory board to help
with some of the club's business. This item will be studied
for possible future consideration; all member input and
participation is encouraged. Please feel free to contact any
club officer if you have ideas or questions that need to be
addressed at the next meeting.
There were three amendments to the club by-laws
proposed and approved by the members present. 1. The
age for full membership was raised from 16 to 18.
2. A Junior Membership was adopted for anyone under
the age of 18 whose parent or legal guardian is a Regular
Member in good standing. Junior members will not have
voting rights and their membership fee is 1/2 price. Junior
members will be issued a membership number followed by
a "J" that will be dropped when they become a Regular
member.
3. The last change requires new members to be in the club
for at least 6 months prior to the November election of
club officers before being eligible to cast a vote.
Club VP Mike Wilkins has been in contact with
Miracle CDJR and reports that they have offered a 15%
discount to club members on parts and service.
A possible road trip to club sponsor Stephens
Performance for a tour of their facility was mentioned. We
will let you know if this happens. They are offering our
members a 10% discount on new parts.

As many of you are aware, Mr. Bob Frensley, a
past club sponsor through his CDJR dealership, passed
away recently. He helped out our club greatly when we
needed a sponsor and will be missed. In his memory, the
membership voted to donate $200 to Diabetes research in
Mr. Frensley’s name and present a plaque to his family.
The annual Indy swap meet is almost here. Several
members are planning to attend for the purpose of buying
and selling parts. If you want to attend, contact Wayne
Hall to get an armband for free admission to the show. If
you would like to join up with members who are going, be
at the Cracker Barrel in Franklin KY at 7AM on Friday
March 6.
Thanks to all of the members that signed up to
place a vehicle in the March 14-15 Hunters car show. We
have once again filled a room for our club sponsors'
annual show. Events Director James Peach has sent out a
parking layout to all of the participants. Thanks to James
for all of his hard work.
Any members who want to attend the Big Easy
Mopar Club Show in New Orleans that same weekend and
would like to travel as a group with other members and
meet up with members of the North Georgia Mopar Club
need to contact Mike Wilkins {615-766-0081 \
[email protected]. He will send an e-mail with
the details to anyone that will be making the trip. Thanks
to Mike for his efforts.
Richard Price is working on the 1st edition of this
years' show flyer so that we can have some to hand out at
the Hunters show and the New Orleans show. If you have
any ideas, please contact Richard or Donny Lippard. We
are trying to get the Jeep club involved in the show, which
will add classes that have not been filled in the past.
Sunday will remain Fun Field Day with participants voting
for the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies.
There was discussion of awarding a trophy or
plaque to the Club's favorite Mopar at other shows that
the club participates in. Let us know what you think.
The March MCMC meeting will be held at David
Denney's home on March 22nd. This will be the 25th
anniversary of the 1st MCMC meeting, so this is one party
that you will not want to miss.
Believe it or not, Spring is just around the corner
and it will be cruising time once again, so be sure to get
those Mopars ready to roll. We will see you at the next
meeting.
March Club Party and Meeting
The BIG Celebration will be in Lebanon on March
22 at the home of David Denney {thanks to David
and Brenda for their excellent Southern
Hospitality}. Meet and Mingle will begin at Noon,
Food consumption will begin at approximately 1:00

dogs will be furnished and Club Members are
asked to bring a “side dish”. Linda Price will be the
“Food Coordinator” and everyone should contact
her {615-373-2785} with the following information:
1. Number of people in your party
2. Side dish that you will bring
3. RSVP ~ It is important that everyone contact her
by Saturday, 03-21-15, so that the Club will have
enough meat and the proper room set-up.

CHRYSLER 200 HITS THE TOP TEN
by Bill Cawthon • Posted on March 4, 2015
With a 31.2% jump in sales, the Chrysler 200 was one of
the top ten best-selling passenger cars in February. The
200 came in at No. 8 among all cars and No. 3 among
American brands, trailing only the Ford Fusion and
Chevy Cruze.
It was No. 17 on the industry wide list and joined the
Ram pickup as the only Chrysler-brand vehicles in the
top 20 (the Jeep Cherokee was No. 21).

In year-to-date
date sales, the Chrysler 200 is still in the top
ten among passenger cars, but it drops to No. 9. In total
light vehicle sales, the 200 checks in at No. 18 behind
b
the
Fusion, Cruze and Ford Focus.
While total Dodge brand sales were down last month,
cars sales were surprisingly strong. Stripping out the
discontinued Avenger, sales of Dodge brand cars rose
31.5% in February.
The Charger was the best-selling full--size car for the
month and checked in at No. 37 out of 297 in total light
vehicle rankings. It ranked 17th in the passenger cars
standings and was the sixth-most-popular
popular American car.
The Challenger and Dart also posted
d good numbers.
Dart sales soared 51.5% in February
Total sales of Chrysler brands, which are usually
overwhelmingly tilted towards light trucks, were in line
with Ford and GM when it came to the car
car-truck mix last
month.
POWER WAGON: FOUR WHEELER’S TOP
PICKUP
by David Zatz • Posted on March 2, 2015
F o u r W h e e l e r has named the Ram Power Wagon
“2015 Pickup Truck o
off the Year.” It has the 6.4-liter
truck Hemi, with best-in-class 410 horsepower and
428 lb.-ft. of torque. Its class-exclusive five-link
rear suspension system was added, with Ram’s
“Articulink” allowing additional axle flex. ( U p d a t e :

JEEP STILL NO. 1 IN SUVS
by Bill Cawthon • Posted on March 4, 2015
Jeep repeated as the top SUV brand in the U.S. last month,
finishing February with a nearly 5,000
5,000-sale lead over
second-place Ford.
“The 2015 Ram Power Wagon is simply everything
you want a real pickup to be,” said Christian
Hazel, editor of F o u r W h e e l e r . “The Ram Power
Wagon didn’t just win Four Wheeler’s 2015 Pickup
Truck of the Year, it blew the competition away.”
All competitors had rigorous testing in trail and
pavement performance, empirical data, and other
qualities.
Based on manufacturers’ reported sales figures, Jeep also
has a strong start to the year – a year that should get even
better when the Renegade starts arriving in dealer
showrooms.

The 2015 Ram Power Wagon is based on the Ram
2500 Heavy Duty 4×4 Crew Cab. In addition to
suspension modifications, it has a specially set up
active dual runner length intake manifold and
calibration; when driving in four-wheel-drive “Low,”
the throttle response softens and the idle speed
increases from 650 to 750 rpm for more control at
slow speeds.
