We are all excited to welcome the beautiful colors and sweet
smells of spring! You are invited to journey with us as we help
your creativity bloom!
30 years ago we had a passion for a fun and educational place
to learn the craft of sewing. We first opened our doors June 1st,
1985. We are still having fun – and that is where “Life is SEW
Fun!” began!
Darlene started as the only staff member, selling, ordering,
teaching, servicing machines and sewing for others. Today we
have 5 service technicians and 11 staff members. We’re still
growing and enjoying the ride!

April is National Serging Month. Be sure to attend the Serger
Savvy Retreat on April 9, 10 11! Lori Hernandez will amaze you
with the many fun techniques you can do with a serger! Everyone
is welcome! You don’t have to own a serger to attend. We
provide everything, including lunches! Cost is $250, with an
Early Bird Discount until April 1st of only $175.
CLASS POLICIES
1. Sign up early because class size is limited.
2. Payment is required to hold your place and
receive a supply list.
3. If class is canceled, you will receive a full
refund.
4. If you must cancel out of class one week
or more before class, you will receive a full
refund.
5. If you cancel out of class less than one
week before class starts, you will not
receive a refund. We need more time to fill
your space and guarantee the instructor’s
fee.
6. Please do not bring children, this is
disruptive to other students.
7. To keep classes running smoothly, we
reserve the right to substitute one of our
machines if yours is not working properly
in class.
8. Arrive before class starts to set up machine.

News from the Knitting Nook…
New yarns from Cascade Yarns have arrived that vary from
lace to chunky weight. New sock yarns from Universal Yarns/
Wisdom Yarns have also arrived. Universal Yarns will also have
some new colors coming out sometime this spring for Bamboo
Bloom, our popular thick and thin yarn. We hope to get some of
these new colors in when they are available.
Mark your calendars and prepare for a road trip! Kelleys
Quality Sewing Center will be one of the shops included in the
Southeastern Minnesota Yarn Shop Hop, YARNventure 2015,
scheduled for Friday June 26th and Saturday June 27th. As we get
more information we will pass it on to you. As always, we look
forward to helping you find the right yarn or needles and notions
for your project and answering any questions you might have.

If the answer is yes, then this is the retreat is for you! No matter
what serger you have or if you are thinking about purchasing a
serger, this is the class for you.
With three fun filled days of serging, you will go home with
a notebook filled with stitched samples that will become
your reference for many years to come - from basics to the
most advanced techniques. Feet and attachments will also be
explored with many of the applications being used in your
everyday Serging.

Learn to knit a sock starting from the
cuff. This class will be taught using
worsted weight yarn and double point
needles. Using worsted weight yarn

Mountain Dew Salad
(Perfect for your family’s Easter dinner!)
2 small boxes lemon Jell-O
2 c hot water
½ can Mountain Dew
1 sm can crushed pineapple, drained
2 bananas
1 c small marshmallows
Dissolve Jell-O in hot water and Mountain Dew. Let chill until partially firm, then stir in cut-up bananas,
marshmallows and pineapple. Pour into a 9x13 inch clear baking dish and chill until firm. Add topping.
Mountain Dew Salad Topping
1 box instant lemon pie filling
Milk according to pie filling box
1 sm container Cool Whip
¼ c pecans, chopped
Mix pie filling and milk as directed on box. Stir in Cool Whip. Spread on top of Mountain Dew Salad. Sprinkle
pecans on topping. Chill and serve cold.
