LUNCH STOPS (WD) and (HD)
It is always advisable to carry food and drink as many lunch stops are in the countryside.
You may phone the leader beforehand to ascertain if food will be on sale at the stop.
Users of a pub’s facilities are asked not to consume their own food and drink on the premises.
On a half day walk it is also advisable to have a drink and snack with you for the usual break.
REMINDERS WHILST WALKING
Please observe the Country Code.
Please check frequently that the person BEHIND you is in sight, especially at junctions.
Boots are recommended for all walks.
When walking on roads, keep to the right except when approaching a right hand bend.
DOGS
Dogs must be kept under close control at all times and not become a nuisance to other people.
They must be on a lead on roads, enclosed paths and in fields with farm animals.
Owners should consult the leader in case the walk is unsuitable for dogs.
THE COUNTRY CODE
Be safe – plan ahead and follow any signs
Leave gates and property as you find them
Protect plants and animals, and take your litter home
Consider other people

It is with regret that we inform you of the death of Stan Nicholls, a member of the Club for over forty

WALKS START TIMES
Enclosed with this mailing is a Questionnaire about walks’ start times which we would like
those of you who do Leisurely or Whole Day walks to complete and return to Jenny
Underwood, Moulmein, 3 Mayfield Gardens Staines TW18 3LG, or hand in to any
Committee Member or Walks Organising Committee member. Or you can e-mail it to
Jenny at ‘[email protected]’.
From time to time the Walks Planning Committee receive and consider members’ requests. One
request this year was to bring forward the start of the Leisurely walks, but following some adverse
comments about the change, the Committee want to know from Leisurely walkers what start time they
prefer. Similarly the start time of Whole Day walks has on occasions been changed to an earlier time
so that we can go a little further away or do a longer walk. Equally some winter walks have started
earlier for practical reasons so that the walk is sure to finish well before dark.
So for these walkers, here is your chance to express your view! Please return your form before 31st
December.
Subscriptions for 2015 are due on January 1st 2015. The cost is £10 per person. If you have not
already paid, please complete the attached subscription form and return it, together with your
cheque, to the Membership Secretary. If you use email, please supply your email address.
