General Rules/Guidelines:
- ALL PAYMENTS ARE CASH ONLY AFTER MAY 1ST. THANK YOU!
- Please check website for Updates! www.southwestdesertclassic.com
- Western Attire is required. (Pullovers welcome)
- Every contestant must have a waiver on file with the race office PRIOR to competing.
- Rake every 5 runners.
- You MAY circle before you run.
- Please keep gate/alleyway clear at all times.
- Big Drag will be posted at race.
- Concessions will be available.
- Mens race will be a 3D with full second splits.
- Mens race sign ups will be ON SITE.
Open will be a 5D with ½ second splits.
- Senior will be a 3D with full second splits.
- Youth classes are NOT division races.
- Open and Senior non-carry overs will be a new draw each day. (40 & 0ver)
- Youth race draw will be reversed for second round.
- There is a 30% draw out fee on all entries, vet or doctors release, no refunds during
race, no refunds after race has started. Except for Futurity Entries where there are
absolutely no refunds.
Futurity Rules
- Open to any horse 2010 or younger that has not competed prior to 12/01/2014. Failure
to comply with this rule will result in disqualification of horse and forfeiture of entries.
- Open to any rider, and any rider may ride more than one horse.
- Open Futurity is a 2D with a full second split.
- Breeders Incentive, PESI, and Future Fortunes sidepots are NOT division races.
- Registered Horses must send a copy of BOTH sides of papers.
- Unregistered Horses must submit a veterinarian affidavit to show proof of age.
- Two go’s and an average will be paid.

PESI sidepot pays each go, there is NOT an average payout.
Future Fortunes pays will be posted.
There are NO REFUNDS for futurity entries. NO BUY outs, you can substitute the
horse, but must have the same rider.
Draw will be reversed for 2nd go.
There will NOT be a short-go.
To be eligible for breeders incentive, horses must be sired by an eligible stallion.
Stallion eligibility will be determined and posted on www.southwestdesertclassic.com
To be eligible for the NON-PRO saddle/side pot, the rider cannot have won more than
$2500 in lifetime futurity earnings. The fee for the sidepot is $50 paid prior to the first
go, of the Futurity.
Derby Rules
- This race is a carry over from Open entry only.
- This race is Saturday only.
- To be eligible, horses must be 5, 6, or 7 years old. Failure to comply with this rule will
result in disqualification of horse and forfeiture of entries.

- Unregistered Horses must submit a veterinarian affidavit to show proof of age.

-Open Arena 10 AM to 4 PM
-Number Youth Horses 2 PM TO 4 PM, FUTURITY & DERBY Horses also.
-Youth Race Starts at 5 PM
-Tentative jackpot to follow, enter on site.
Saturday May 9th
