Dear Travelling Friends,
What a celebration!!! We loved celebrating our
company’s 30th anniversary with so many of you
accompanying us on a Bahamian Cruise out of New
Orleans this past November/December. As we head
into 2015, and into our fourth decade, we want to
express our sincere thanks to all of you, past, present and even future travellers, for your friendship
and support.
As we look ahead to 2015, we are thrilled to present a wide selection of tours for you to peruse, with
some exciting new additions and some perennial
favourites as well. We are excited to offer some
new and exciting coach and cruise combinations,
including a Canada/New England cruise out of Boston, and a Caribbean cruise out of Galveston. These
are becoming some of our most popular holidays,
so be sure to make your reservation early. We’re
also thrilled to offer several other new and exciting
tours like Route 66 with Branson, and the Oshkosh
air show, just to name a couple. Also new this year
is our partnership with the Manulife LPGA Classic;
this is a package you won’t find with anyone else!
See page 45 for all the details.
All of our tours are what we like to call “worryfree“, with all the details being taken care of. And
let’s not forget the “fun factor“...because having
fun is our reason for being! That’s easy when you
have a group of people, a really well-planned and
executed itinerary, comfortable surroundings, and
capable leadership. Many new friendships are
forged, and many wonderful memories are made.
Travelling on our tours is like being part of a family, and we look forward to having you with us for
some happy exploration of some beautiful parts of
the continent.
We hope you find exactly what you’re looking for
as you browse through this catalogue, and we sincerely thank you for your ongoing support. Wishing
you all the very best for 2015, we remain
Sincerely yours,

Bermuda Cruise from Baltimore
Join us as we cruise in style aboard Royal Caribbean’s Grandeur of the Seas to the beautiful
island of Bermuda. Travelling by motor coach will get us to our port in Baltimore conveniently and worry-free. By the time you board the ship, you’ll have at least 50 other travelling companions who are familiar, as well as your own Great Canadian tour director, making
the cruise an even more meaningful experience. Come along and join us for a worry-free, fun
and economical holiday!
Explore Bermuda
Bermuda has long been our favourite holiday
destination, with its many flowers and bright,
pastel-coloured homes. The beaches and scenery
are breathtaking and there are so many things to
see and do. We know you’ll fall in love with this
island just as we have. Every year this coach and
cruise tour sells out – please make your travel
plans early!
Day One: We board the coach and meet our
travelling companions, enjoying the scenery and
the fun along the way. We spend our first night
together at a beautiful hotel in downtown Pittsburgh, where a welcome dinner awaits.
Day Two: We board the coach this morning for
the short drive to Baltimore, where we board our
ship at the scenic Baltimore Harbor. We set sail
this afternoon on Royal Caribbean’s Grandeur
of the Seas for a spectacular six-night cruise.
The ship is a delight, featuring pools, lounges,
multiple incredible dining options, amazing entertainment, a casino, boutique shopping, and so
much more. There are enough activities going on
to keep you as busy as you’d like, but also many
inviting places to rest and relax.
The ship docks at King’s Wharf in Bermuda for
a delightful two-night stay. There will be many
optional shore excursions offered, or simply
explore on your own. It’s easy to do with the
plentiful and friendly cabs and buses, and with
no language barrier, it couldn’t be easier to do
whatever you please. Have a refreshing rum
swizzle at a local roadside pub, take a walking
tour, enjoy a glass-bottom boat ride, or explore
King’s Wharf. Shopping is popular in Bermuda,
with many British goods available. The Bermuda
dollar is the official currency, and is on par with
the U.S. dollar. Your Great Canadian tour director will also be on hand throughout to assist you
with your planning.
After six nights of pampering aboard the Grandeur of the Seas, we return to Baltimore, where
we meet our Great Canadian coach for an enjoyable drive to Williamsport, PA. We spend our last
night together here and enjoy a farewell dinner.
Day Nine – Home: A relaxing drive takes us home
today, as we reminisce with our friends about this
unforgettable holiday. We arrive home by late afternoon/early evening with a lifetime of memories.
“We have been travelling with your company since July 2003 and have
enjoyed 30 plus tours and several daytrips and we hope to continue our
travels. It has been a great time. Always had good tour guides & drivers.”

We cruise on Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas, and enjoy a circle route motor coach
tour to Florida for the very best of both worlds. The sightseeing is relaxed and comfortable,
so getting to the ship is half the fun! By the time you board the ship, you’ll have at least 50
other travelling companions who are familiar, as well as your own Great Canadian tour
director, making the cruise an even more meaningful experience. Come along and join us
for a worry-free, fun and economical holiday.
Day One – To Cincinnati: Sit back, relax and
get to know your fellow travellers as we enjoy
the drive to our home for the night, just north of
Cincinnati, Ohio.
Day Two – To Atlanta: The Blue Grass of Kentucky soon gives way to the rolling hills of Tennessee as we leave the snow and cold behind.
We spend the night just outside Atlanta, Georgia.
Day Three – To Macon and Gainesville: We
begin to see cotton fields on the landscape on
our way to Macon, Georgia. A local guide joins
us for a guided tour of the immaculate antebellum homes and mansions in this city that was
preserved during the Civil War. We cross the
Florida border and spend the night in Gainesville.
Day Four – To Orlando: We travel the short
distance to Orlando, Florida today, where the
afternoon will be free to sightsee as you wish.
Whether you would like to explore any of Orlando’s famous theme parks, do some shopping,
or just relax, the choice is yours.
Day Five – Kennedy Space Center and Freedom of the Seas: This morning, we’ll visit the
incredible Kennedy Space Center, where we’ll
stand nose to nose with the space shuttle Atlantis, touch a real moon rock, and marvel at the
awe-inspiring rocket garden. This afternoon, we
board Royal Caribbean’s Freedom of the Seas for
a spectacular 7-night Western Caribbean Cruise.
Days Six to Eleven – Western Caribbean
Cruise: You’ll love cruising with Royal Caribbean. Whether you choose to take advantage of
their many onboard activities or lounge by one
of their many pools and whirlpools, you can be
as busy or relaxed as you wish. The ship features
a skating rink, karaoke club, casino, spa with
fitness centre, a rock climbing wall, duty free and
boutique shopping, and fabulous live shows. Always a highlight on any cruise is the dining, and
Freedom of the Seas will not disappoint. Whether
you dine in the main dining room, prefer something more casual, or decide to take advantage
of some of the phenomenal specialty restaurants
onboard, you will have no shortage of options.
We visit some of the most beautiful destinations in
the Caribbean, including Labadee, Haiti; Falmouth,
Jamaica; George Town, Grand Cayman; and
Cozumel, Mexico. Optional shore excursions are
available at every port, or you can explore independently. Your Great Canadian tour director will
also be on hand to assist you with your planning.
Day Twelve – To Savannah: We board our
Great Canadian coach this morning, and make
our way to the historic city of Savannah, where
we spend the night.
Day Thirteen – To Charlotte: A local guide will
show us the beautiful city of Savannah this morning. Then, we make our way to Charlotte, North
Carolina for the night.

the mountains. We spend the night in Washington, PA, just southwest of Pittsburgh. We enjoy a
lovely farewell dinner this evening.
Day Fifteen – Home: An enjoyable drive gets us
home early evening, with a lifetime of memories.

NEW
TOUR
This combination of a coach tour to Galveston Island and a 7-night cruise aboard
Royal Caribbean’s Liberty of the Seas is the ultimate escape. Enjoy the most beautiful spots in the
south; the charm and grace of antebellum Natchez with its beautiful plantations and gardens;
the Natchez Trace Parkway, the vibrant city of New Orleans, Memphis, Galveston Island and more.
Then, board a luxurious cruise ship for a Caribbean Cruise, for a holiday you’ll always remember.
Day One – To Cincinnati: Our first day together
takes us across the border through Michigan and
into Ohio. We spend the night in Cincinnati.
Day Two – To Memphis: A scenic drive takes
us through the Blue Grass State of Kentucky and
into the rolling hills of Tennessee. An optional
excursion will be available this evening to Beale
Street, known as the “birthplace of the Blues”.
Day Three – To Natchez: After a visit to Graceland, the former home of Elvis Presley, we travel
south through Mississippi to Jackson, then pick
up the gorgeous Natchez Trace Parkway, the
original path to settlement in this area. Arriving in
Natchez, high on the bluffs of the Mississippi River
and full of grace and elegance, you will want to
take plenty of photographs. There were only 18
millionaires in the US in the antebellum days, and
12 of them lived here in Natchez, making their
fortunes in the cotton business. We spend the
night in Natchez after a guided tour of the city.
Day Four – To Baton Rouge: Today we visit
Rosedown Plantation and Gardens, with 28 acres
of grounds featuring romantic gardens. We enjoy
free time for lunch and browsing in the Historic
District in St. Francisville, with antebellum homes,
ships and historic structures. We spend the night
in the capital city of Baton Rouge.
Day Five – To Galveston Island area: A scenic
drive takes us west through Lake Charles and
into the state of Texas. We make our way toward
Galveston Island, on the Gulf of Mexico.
Days Six to Twelve – Caribbean Cruise aboard
Liberty of the Seas: This morning a local guide
joins us for a spectacular tour of Galveston Island,
including a tour of Moody Mansion. This island
boasts many historic mansions, buildings and gardens, and the colourful history will come alive as
we explore the area. Then, it’s time to go to board
the Liberty of the Seas for our Caribbean cruise.
The Liberty of the Seas will be our luxurious home
for the next seven nights. Royal Caribbean always
creates a wonderful experience for us, and this
will be no exception. Enjoy everything the ship
has to offer, including multiple pools (both indoor
and outdoor), whirlpools, a full fitness centre with
classes, a skating rink, rock climbing wall, surf park,
spa, casino, duty free and boutique shopping, live
shows, and more. You can keep busy the whole
time, or relax in the library or card room, find a
quiet spot on the deck to read and relax, or peoplewatch in the many lounges and bars onboard. The
dining onboard is always a highlight, whether you
find yourself in the main dining room, one of the
more casual options, or exploring the many specialty restaurants. Book one of Royal Caribbean’s many
organized shore excursions or explore on your own.
We know you’ll love our time in Roatan, Honduras;
Belize City, Belize; and Cozumel, Mexico.
Day Thirteen – To New Orleans: We say farewell
to our ship this morning and board our coach
for the short drive to the incredible city of New
Orleans. This vibrant city is like no other, with its
fascinating French Quarter district and bustling waterfront. We spend two nights in this amazing city.
Day Fourteen – New Orleans: A local guide joins
us for a tour of the city, followed by free time this
afternoon. You may choose to visit the phenomenal World War II Museum, Harrah’s Casino, do
some shopping, or enjoy the French Quarter. Your
tour director will help you with all the details.
Day Fifteen – To Memphis: Today we enjoy a
scenic circle route through Louisiana to Birmingham, Alabama, where we spend the night.
Day Sixteen – To Cincinnati: The rolling hills of
Tennessee take us north through Nashville, and
onto Cincinnati, where we enjoy a farewell dinner.
Day Seventeen: A relaxing drive today takes us
back into Ontario, arriving home this evening
with a lifetime of memories.

West Virginia Adventures
Rafting and zip lining, along with a visit to Canyon Rim, and tours of a coal mine and
Luray Caverns, this exciting holiday will cross all sorts of things off your bucket list. If you
love the outdoors and have a taste for fun and adventure, come along for a spectacular
summer holiday!
Day One – To Morgantown, WV: We board the
coach and get to know our travelling companions
as we sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery as we
travel through the Allegheny Mountains, around
Pittsburgh and into West Virginia. We spend our
first night in Morgantown.
Day Two – To Beckley, WV: A scenic drive takes
us through the many state parks on our way to
Fayetteville. We stop at the Canyon Rim Visitor
Center and then experience the breathtaking
scenery of the dramatic V-shaped gorge from the
coach as we cross the New River Gorge Bridge.
An afternoon of excitement awaits, as we take
on the Tree Tops, named by USA Today among
the top zip line courses in the country, it is the
longest and best canopy tour in West Virginia. It
brings a combination of zip lines, cable bridges,
and stationary tree platforms put together using
natural surroundings. It will show us the local
flora and fauna that are otherwise inaccessible. It
is not a strenuous activity, but does require walking short distances and the ability to reach above
your head. We then settle into our hotel for the
next two nights in Beckley.
Day Three – Rafting: Our day begins with another unique experience as we take a tour of the
Exhibition Coal Mine in Beckley. A veteran coal
miner takes us underground aboard authentic
“man cars” for a fascinating glimpse into the
history of the mining industry in the region. Take
some time to browse the coal museum, gift shop
or fudgery, all located onsite. After an included
lunch, we will participate in a gentle rafting tour
on the breathtaking Upper New River. The waters
on the Upper New River provide the perfect mix
of splashy, playful waves with plenty of calm
water to enjoy the outstanding natural scenery.
Paddling is optional, so you’re free to sit back
and enjoy the ride or grab a paddle and take
part. This is a safe and fun rafting excursion that
is perfect for all ages and is an unforgettable way
to experience the natural beauty of the New River
Gorge. This evening, we enjoy a gourmet buffet
dinner at Smokey’s on the Gorge before returning to our hotel for the night.
Day Four – To Breezewood, PA: This morning
we travel into Virginia and drive the most scenic
part of one of the most beautiful highways in the
world, Skyline Drive. The vistas from the crest of
the Appalachian Mountains are outstanding, as we
travel through Shenandoah National Park and the
Blue Ridge Mountains. We visit impressive Luray
Caverns this afternoon, one of America’s natural
wonders. It has well-lit, paved walkways that lead
us through cathedral-sized rooms with ceilings 10
stories high. Enormous chambers are filled with
towering columns, shimmering draperies and
crystal-clear pools. We then continue on to Breezewood, where we spend our last night together.
Day Five – Home: Sit back and relax as we travel
through Pennsylvania and into New York, arriving
home early evening.
Please note: The rafting trip on the Upper New
River is a completely safe excursion, with over
100,000 people each year rafting safely on the
river. You do NOT need to know how to swim,
although you will get wet (we recommend
bringing a bathing suit, towel, and full change
of clothes). As a precaution, each passenger is
provided with a life jacket. Paddling is optional,
and it is appropriate to wear shorts, comfortable running or walking shoes, sunscreen, a light
windbreaker and hat.
“We look forward to planning another trip next summer. Your company did a
great job in planning this tour.” - Janice Beehler

café, bakeshop and country store. We then visit
Walkers Candies, where a tour will show us how
they’ve been making hand-dipped truffles and
other delectable treats for over ninety years. Late
this afternoon, we check into our home for the
next two nights, the spectacular Caesars Windsor Hotel. We’ll stay in the lap of luxury at this
beautiful four-diamond hotel, and enjoy all the
amenities Caesars Windsor has to offer. Spend
the evening dining in one of the several onsite restaurants, try your luck at the casino, join us for a
shopping excursion to a nearby mall, or just relax
and enjoy the pool and your lovely surroundings.
Day Two – Pelee Island: We board a ferry this
morning for the relaxing trip across Lake Erie
to Pelee Island. This is as far south as you can
travel while remaining in Canada, and is home
to some spectacular natural areas. It’s a hotspot
for migrating birds, and you’ll often see amazing
species here that you won’t see at home. The
climate here is milder than the mainland, resulting in excellent conditions for growing grapes.
While on the island, we’ll have lunch at the Pelee
Island Winery. We’ll spend some time touring the
island before returning by ferry to the mainland.
Day Three – Rum Runners Tour: Today, an
exciting tour will bring us back to the prohibition
days in the 1920s, when Windsor was a main
supplier of illegal liquor to the likes of Al Capone
and other mobsters. Windsor’s bootlegging
stories are colourful and fascinating, and this tour
will bring it all to life, along with a lot of fun.
See the famous Canadian Club Heritage Centre
and sample some whiskey and enjoy an included
lunch. This afternoon, we make our way home
with wonderful memories.

New York City Sightseeing
We’re listening! For years you’ve been asking for a more comprehensive tour to New York
with more inclusions...well, here it is! With fabulous included features including a Broadway
musical, the BEST attractions in New York, a dinner cruise, some meals and more, this tour is
a fantastic way to see the very best of The Big Apple. Please book early, as we expect these
dates to sell out quickly.
Day One: The fun begins as we meet our
travelling friends, and enjoy a scenic drive down
highway 17, through the rolling hills of New York
and Pennsylvania. We spend the next four nights
just outside Manhattan in a quiet New Jersey
neighbourhood.
Day Two: A local guide joins us this morning for
a fascinating in-depth tour of New York. His local
knowledge is second to none, and it’s a great
way to begin our New York sightseeing. After
lunch on our own, we visit the incredible 9/11
Memorial and Museum. Opened only recently,
the museum’s 110,000 square feet of exhibition
space is located within the archaeological heart
of the World Trade Center site–telling the story
of 9/11 through multimedia displays, archives,
narratives and a collection of monumental and
authentic artifacts. The monumental artifacts
of the museum provide a link to the events of
9/11, while presenting intimate stories of loss,
compassion, reckoning, and recovery that are
central to telling the story of the attacks and the
aftermath. Then, we see another aspect of 9/11
at the Tribute Center, where we discover the
personal stories of 9/11, told by those who were
there. Afterwards, you may wish to visit nearby
Century 21, a huge department store offering
a huge array of merchandise at bargain prices.
This evening, we will offer an optional shopping
excursion to the outlets in Secaucus, N.J.
Day Three: Our favourite spot to see New York
City from a bird’s eye view is at the Top of the
Rock, high atop the Rockefeller Center. A gift
from John D. Rockefeller to Manhattan as a
place for locals and visitors to marvel at the city
he loved, this is simply the very best place to see
the city from above. This afternoon we attend a
Broadway performance of “On the Town”, one
of America’s greatest musical comedies. With the
biggest orchestra on Broadway and a 30-member
cast of New York’s most talented singers and
dancers, “On the Town” tells the story of three
wide-eyed sailors on a whirlwind musical tour of
the city that never sleeps. With just 24 hours of
shore leave, they’re eager to experience all that
New York City has to offer…including a chance
to discover love with the girl of their dreams.
Afterwards, we make our way to the elegant
Spirit cruise boat, where we have a chance to
dine, dance and see Manhattan like never before.
The three hour cruise takes us by the Freedom
Tower, the Statue of Liberty, and as the sun goes
down we see the lights sparkle and come alive
as we cruise under the Manhattan, Brooklyn and
Williamsburg bridges. A delicious buffet is featured, as well as music on the upper deck. This
will be an unforgettable evening.
Day Four: Take a trip back in time to the art
deco era, as we take a tour of Radio City Music
Hall. This magnificent facility, nicknamed the
Showplace of the Nation, has been restored to its
original opulence, and the stories and background are simply fascinating. On this guided
tour, we discover art deco masterpieces, learn the
secrets of the Great Stage, and meet a Rockette.
We get a real sense of the grand history of this
beautiful and unique venue, and the high-powered stars who have performed here. You may
choose between the Metropolitan Museum of
Art, The Museum of Natural History or the New
York Historical Museum, and the coach will drop
you off and pick you up afterwards. Each has
facilities for lunch on your own, or you can eat
in the area. This afternoon, we visit the worldrenowned Cathedral of St. John the Divine, the
fourth largest cathedral in the entire world. The
Gothic architecture and the incredible beauty will
take your breath away. This evening, dinner is
included at Carmine’s, a New York institution and
landmark, and one of our personal favourites.

Ted Drewes Frozen Custard
Route 66; it’s more than just a road. It’s a ribbon that winds around the soul of a country...
a step back in time when hamburgers were a nickel, optimism was everywhere, and a real
adventure meant a driving trip. But not just anywhere! It meant a trip down the Mother
Road, the Main Street of America, a place to get your kicks. It meant Route 66. This tour also
features three nights with exciting shows and entertainment in Branson! Join us on our newest tour and please be sure to make your reservation early!
Branson strip
Day One – To Chicago: The fun begins as we
meet our travelling companions and travel to the
start of it all, Chicago, Illinois. We stay in a quiet
suburb outside the city.
Day Two – To St. Louis: We make our way west
today, following Route 66 from Chicago, where
it famously begins. We’ll stop at the Our Lady of
the Highway Shrine, and travel south to Litchfield, where we have lunch at the Ariston Café,
possibly the oldest restaurant along Route 66.
We arrive in the beautiful city of St. Louis, the
gateway to the west, this afternoon. Join us this
evening for an optional visit to a riverboat casino.
Day Three – St. Louis and Route 66 highlights: A local guide joins us this morning for
a day devoted to historic Route 66 in St. Louis.
We’ll visit the St. Louis Arch, and stop at a Route
66 icon since the 1920’s, Ted Drewes Frozen
Custard. We visit the Museum of Transportation,
with the nation’s largest collection of wheeled
vehicles. We visit the legendary Chain of Rocks
Bridge with a 24 degree bend, and see portions
of the original road.
Day Four – Route 66 highlights to Branson:
We travel along historic Route 66 to Meramec
Caverns, almost as famous for their plethora of
billboards as the 5-storey caverns, formerly a
hideout for Jesse James. We travel parts of the
Mother Road today, visiting the towns of Sullivan
and Cuba, where the vintage Wagon Wheel
Motel still stands. We continue into Missouri’s
beautiful Ozark Mountain region this afternoon.
We arrive in Branson this evening, our home for
the next three nights.
Day Five and Six – Branson: We enjoy two full
days in Branson. We’ll see one Branson’s original
shows, the Presley’s Country Jubilee, as well as
the Billy Dean and Steel Horses Show, Hits of the
60’s Show, a tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four
Seasons, and the Down Home Country Morning
Show. Our stay in Branson also features a guided
tour of the local area, admission to Silver Dollar
City, and one included dinner.
Day Seven – To Indianapolis: More Route 66
sights await us today, as we travel Missouri’s portion
of the Mother Road once again. We arrive in Indianapolis this evening for our final night together.
Day Eight – Home: We make our way home
today, with wonderful memories of our Route 66
and Branson holiday.

the interesting Fisheries Museum of the Atlantic,
and explore the downtown waterfront area. The
August departure will coincide with the Lunenburg
Folk Harbour Festival in the downtown area.
Day Eleven – Annapolis Valley: We travel inland
today and through the beautiful Annapolis Valley,
with dykelands, orchards, charming Victorian towns
and vineyards rolling across acre after picture-perfect
acre to the shores of the Bay of Fundy. We return to
New Brunswick on a ferry cruise and spend the night
in St. John. On our way to the hotel we will stop to

is varied, leaving the huge peaks of the Rockies
behind and seeing the unusual butte mountains

and every day presents outstanding sightseeing, and after careful personal inspection of every aspect
of this wonderful adventure, we know you will love it. From the unforgettable majesty of the Grand
Canyon to the mystical red rock land formations to the thrill of Las Vegas, you will always treasure
this amazing holiday. While there are many opportunities for gentle hikes in the parks, you don’t

you will never forget. The change of colours from
dark to brilliant reds and oranges overwhelms our
senses. Afterwards, we continue on to the Navajo
Nation’s Monument Valley Park, one of the most
majestic and photographed places on earth. Great
sandstone masterpieces tower at heights of 400
– 1000 feet, and when the sun shines on these
rocks, buttes and mesas, the magnificent colours
create a wondrous experience. These monuments
were created by 50 million years of wind and
water eroding the layers of soft rock to reveal
the natural wonders of the Monument as it exists
today. The scenery continues as we travel north
to Moab, where we spend two nights in a lovely
downtown hotel, close to shops and restaurants.

Rose parade float
California & the Rose Parade
This spectacular itinerary spends four relaxing nights in the Los Angeles area, and takes in
the exquisite Napa Valley for wine tasting and sightseeing, as well as all the highlights of
our spectacular coastal drive from Los Angeles to San Francisco. Each and every day features
incredible sightseeing, with the highlight being the Rose Parade on New Year’s Day. If you’ve
always dreamed of seeing the very best of California, don’t put it off any longer. Come along
and join the fun!
Day One – To Los Angeles: A convenient flight
takes us to Los Angeles, where a local motor
coach takes us to our hotel in Buena Park. Unpack and relax for a four night stay.
and a guided tour brings to life the opulent lifestyle of its former resident and guests. We then
continue to enjoy the spectacular scenery along
the coast as we spend the night in Monterey.
Day Two – Los Angeles: A local guide joins us
today for an extended tour of the area, including
Olvera Street, Hollywood, the Farmer’s Market,
Santa Monica Pier, and much more.
Day Seven – To San Francisco: Today’s 17-mile
drive has been called the most spectacular route
in the United States, and we have to agree.
Pebble Beach and its famous golf course can be
seen, as well as Cypress Point, Lone Cypress, Seal
Rock, Spy Glass Hill and the Monterey Peninsula.
This afternoon we arrive in the exciting city of
San Francisco for a pleasant three night stay.
Day Three – Long Beach & Santa Monica: Today we visit the historic Queen Mary, permanently docked as a hotel in Long Beach. We spend
some time in beautiful Santa Monica. We enjoy
a lovely dinner and New Year’s toast, celebrated
at Eastern time so we can be ready for the early
morning tomorrow.
Day Four – Rose Parade: Happy New Year! We
have reserved bleacher seats for the famous Rose
Bowl Parade. This exciting event features elaborate floats made entirely out of flowers and plant
material. Fabulous bands from all over the world
perform in this colourful spectacle. Afterwards,
we see the floats up close at a nearby park as
they are dismantled.
Day Five – To Morro Bay: The scenery is
outstanding today as we travel along the Pacific
coastline. The beautiful ocean to one side, and
the mountains to the other, make this trip incredibly memorable. We spend some time in Solvang,
a quaint village fashioned after a small northern
European town, with gift shops, restaurants and
galleries. We spend the night in Morro Bay.
Day Six – To Monterey: Today we visit Hearst
Castle, atop the Enchanted Hill overlooking the
Pacific. This estate is like nothing you’ve seen,
39
Sightseeing
Day Eight – San Francisco: A guided tour this
morning shows us the best of this fascinating
and cosmopolitan city, highlighting the Golden
Gate Bridge, Fisherman’s Wharf and so much
more. The city rests on a series of hills on a narrow peninsula and you can hear the clanking of
cable cars as they travel up and down the steep
inclines. Afterwards, a fascinating boat cruise
allows us to see this fabulous city from the water
and to get a close look at Alcatraz. The rest of
the day and evening are free for you to further
explore on your own.
Day Nine – Napa Valley: The area just north of
San Francisco is perfect for growing grapes, and the
natural extension of that is an abundance of wineries. The peaceful, serene setting of these wineries
is lovely, and we visit two wineries, and visit some
of the local shops and galleries. We return to San
Francisco for a farewell dinner together.
Day Ten – Home: We say farewell to California
as we board the plane bound for home. We arrive with wonderful memories of our spectacular
California holiday.

Travel Insurance Travel with peace of mind!
Did you know?
OHIP is not designed to
cover everything, whether
you’re travelling out of province or out of country. Costs

ambulance services (ground

We know what could happen, whether travelling out
of province or out of country:
•A sudden emergency
forces you to cancel your

•An injury while travelling
interrupts your trip, causes
you to need unexpected
medical attention, and the
cost of an emergency air
ambulance home.
•You need to return home
early due to an unexpected emergency.
Stay protected with any of the
following affordable options:
All-inclusive Package Plan:
Combines Emergency Hospital & Medical insurance for
Canadians plus Trip Cancellation & Interruption providing

PHYSICALLY CHALLENGED PASSENGERS are more than
welcome to travel with us, however you MUST have a capable travelling companion to assist you at all times and the
office must be notified of any disabilities when reservations
are made. Some tours may present difficulties for the physically challenged. It is the responsibility of users of walkers or
wheelchairs to have with them an able-bodied assistant to
stow the unit on the motor coaches. GREAT CANADIAN is
unable to supply wheelchairs. Although not recommended,
by prior arrangement only, and depending upon size, pickup
location and tour, electric scooters can be accommodated.
Please discuss this when booking. Portable oxygen is allowed

our special GREAT CANADIAN HOLIDAYS tag for easier handling at hotels, if included. The cost of porterage for one case

therefore cannot guarantee smoking rooms in those situations. We apologize for any inconvenience.
FRAGRANCES: In consideration of your fellow passengers,
please refrain from using perfume and cologne/aftershave.

entry into Canada or the U.S. by border officials and are not
responsible for providing transportation back home.
FREE ACCOMMODATION FOR OUT-OF-TOWN TRAVELLERS:
For tours 7 days or longer in duration, we are pleased to offer complimentary overnight accommodation prior to the first
day of the tour in Kitchener. This is specifically for our travellers from 150 or more kilometres from Kitchener-Waterloo,
who wish to drive their car to the hotel and begin the tour
refreshed and relaxed. Details are available from your travel
agent or from our reservations personnel.
JOINING FRIENDS ON TOUR: If you are travelling with a
friend from a distant city it may not always be possible to
travel on the same coach if there are multiple coaches on
that departure. You may have to meet up at the hotel on the
first night and continue together from there.
GRATUITIES: When meals are included in the tour price,
gratuities are also included. When buying meals on tour, keep
in mind that gratuities are very important to restaurant staff.
Good restaurant stops can be hard to keep if tour groups do
not show appreciation for the service and effort put forth by
the staff. As for the driver and tour director, it is customary
to show your appreciation based on the level of service
received. In this way, you can decide what their performance
was worth and you will also know for sure they actually
receive their gratuities.
COACHES: The motor coaches used on our tours are of the
latest design with air suspension ride, climate control, reclining seats, washroom facilities, stereo music and much more.
For nearly all of our tours we use our own coaches, however,
during busy times or when our coaches are off the road for
important regular mechanical service, we charter quality
coaches from carefully selected companies.
CURRENCY: All prices shown are per person in Canadian
funds, and include HST where applicable. Although it is not
anticipated, prices are subject to change if there is a significant change in the status of the Canadian dollar, fluctuations
in airfare, or fuel increases.
SPECIAL ACCOMMODATION REQUESTS: Accommodation
is included on all tours. Room assignments are always done
by the hotel in an impartial fashion. Therefore, if you have
special needs, such as a room adjacent to a friend, please let
us know at time of booking and we will inform the hotels. It
cannot always be done, but the hotels will try to accommodate us to the best of their ability. All hotel rooms will be
requested as ‘non-smoking’ unless otherwise requested at
time of booking.
