This lesson will examine differences among the Dead Sea Scroll manuscripts that adhere closely to our medieval sources for the Bible and those that differ radically. All are welcome! UKRAINE BIRTHDAY CARDS Audrey Ball, Director of Transitions Orphan Assistance Foundation, Inc., and member of WPPC, has provided a great service to orphans in Odessa, Ukraine for seven years. One way she honors these young people is to present each a birthday card with a handwritten note from a caring American. Wouldn’t it be great for WPPC to provide cards for an entire year? That would be about 250 cards! If you would like to be part of this mission, please place blank (no notes or signatures) birthday cards in the “Ukraine Birthday Cards” box provided in fellowship hall during the month of March. In early April, after the 10:30 service, the Compassion Committee will sponsor an intergenerational card signing event. PLEASE NOTE: THE YOUTH GROUP WILL NOT BE MEETING TONIGHT! WE’LL SEE YOU NEXT WEEK!! TRANSPORTATION FOR CHURCH EVENTS If you see an event that you would like to attend, please contact the church office and let your needs be known! If given enough notice we can arrange to have you picked up and returned home using our new bus. Man that is born of a woman hath but a short time to live, and is full of misery. He cometh up, and is cut down like a flower; he fleeth as it were a shadow. Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, , dona eis requiem. In the midst of life, we are in death. Of whom may we seek for succor? Agnus Dei, qui tollis peccata mundi, dona eis requiem. I am the resurrection and the life, saith the Lord: He that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Before the Fruit Is Ripened * Postlude (10:30) This Lenten Journey • Campbell (Please remain seated) Text: Troeger; Tune: Eventide • Monk Serving Today Officiating Minister: Liturgist: Musicians: Children's Moment: Greeters: Text: Troeger; Tune: Eventide • Monk Sermon “A New Covenant” * Affirmation of Faith • Adapted from the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) Study Catechism, Question 45 (In Unison) Why did Jesus have to suffer as he did? Because grace is more abundant— and sin more serious—than we suppose. However cruelly we may treat one another, all sin is primarily against God. God condemns sin, yet never judges apart from grace. In giving Jesus Christ to die for us, God took the burden of our sin into God’s own self to remove it once and for all. The cross in all its severity reveals an abyss of sin swallowed up by the suffering of divine love. 4 Ushers: Elders: Audio/Visual: Dr. Jason T.
