Recital Information - Pensacola Music Teachers Association

2015 PMTA Sonata Contest Winner’s Recital
Information Sheet
Congratulations first place winner!
You will have the
privilege of playing in one of our winner’s recitals. This year’s Winner’s
Recitals will be held at Dollarhide’s Music located at the corner of Palafox
and Romana Streets in Downtown Pensacola. The date is Saturday, March
21th, 2015. The first of three recitals will begin at 3:00 p.m., followed by
a 4:15 recital, and the last of the recitals will begin at 5:30 p.m.
What should I wear?
This is a recital event. Attire should not be formal, but rather may reflect
the idea of “Sunday dress” or a dress-up event.
How long are the recitals?
All the recitals are one hour or less. You may enjoy one, or two, or all
three! Since recitals will be less than one hour in length, please be
courteous to all performers by remaining for the entire recital, rather than
choosing to leave after your student plays.
In which recital do I play?
Check the Recital Schedule to find out in which recital your division plays.
Should I bow after I play?
It is proper to bow when the audience claps for your performance. It is the
audience’s way of saying “Thank you for your music gift to us today.”
When you bow, it is like saying, “You’re welcome.” If you have any
questions, please ask your Master of Ceremonies.
Who may come to the recitals?
All are welcome! Comfortable seating is supplied by Dollarhide’s music for
our listening pleasure.
Are the recitals being recorded?
Yes! Dollarhide’s is recording the recitals, and they will be offered via
Online-Streaming. Dollarhide’s will let teachers know when the recitals are
up online and provide access codes after the event.
Congratulations to you, your parents, and your teacher on a job well
done! See you at the Winner’s Recital!
