objective – to restore the 1769 organ – has been achieved. We now aim to provide regular concerts in the James
Wyatt Music Room, with the special new element of including ‘New Generation Artists’, final-year students and
recent graduates from the Conservatoires, and the wonderful talent of our specialist Music Schools. We’re also
trying hard to encourage the next generation of LISTENERS – making much of tickets under half-price, and

2015 Shaldon Festival will taking place from Thurs 18th June to Sun 21st
June and will include concerts by Voces 8, the Fournier Trio & the
Chilingirian Quartet (including Mozart Horn Quintet in E flat major with Tim
Brown as soloist). The Choral Workshop on the Saturday is being directed by
Brian Kay and will include Puccini Messa di Gloria & Hadel's Zadok the Priest
& The King shall rejoice.

‘MAKING MUSIC IN TORBAY’ The editor of ‘Devon Music Notes’ has spent 14 years of research compiling a
book of the history of the South Devon Choir over 140 years. It provides an insight into the history, working and
management of a large classical music choral society. Although a large section of the text relates directly to the
Choir, many other amusing snippets are included as well as information relating to music events in the Torbay area
over this period. Committee members of others similar groups (they do not need to be in South Devon) may find
some of the events and ideas, not all successful, of help and value for their own organisation. The book is now
