Enterprise Session Border Controller for Video
The EdgeProtect™ 4550 series enables SMB customers to deploy a single
appliance for secure, reliable and ubiquitous video conferencing that enhances
the communication experience and improves productivity. EdgeProtect, an
enterprise session border controller (ESBC), provides complete NAT and
firewall traversal solution and simplified secure remote access for seamless
video communications from any location and any device.
EdgeProtect provides standards-based SIP and H.323 protocol support
with SIP/H.460 far end NAT traversal facilitating mobile and remote users to
seamlessly and securely communicate from any location, using any available
network access (e.g. enterprise, home, public, mobile). EdgeProtect’s dynamic
and managed security policy provides flexibility to integrate within existing
network security infrastructure or meet critical Enterprise security requirements
as an independent security device. EdgeProtect provides SIP and H.323 local
call control or secure proxy support for external call control elements. Media
handling features include shortest path media routing and media relay when
NAT traversal is necessary.
EdgeProtect supports WAN or LAN side SIP server and gatekeeper
configurations to ensure interoperability for networks with existing multi-vendor
endpoints or call control elements, providing flexibility to choose from best of
breed technology for service delivery.
