Dear Members
Time is “flying by” with Easter already upon us.
Your Club continues to be creative and forward thinking by providing
many differing events for you take part in and meet fellow members and
guests.
Our succesful masterclass series features Riesling wine on the 16th
April and something for our ever growing young female executives on
the 24th April with a unique opportunity to meet Laura Chong a corporate lawyer turned
fashion designer at the Club.
Another great initiative to support is the “Boardroom Breakfast Series” created and run
by some of our young member entrepreneurs , enabling small business owner members to
share experiences, held over breakfast on selected Wednesday mornings.
To round April off do not forget the regular music and tapas night on Friday the 24th
featuring vocalist Sally Cooper.
May is also just around the corner with the always popular Mothers Day event at the
Club on Sunday the 10th May - book early and reward “mum” with a unique Polo Club
experience.

Join us for a in-depth look into the noble grape variety of Riesling.
Take a tour around Australia & New Zealand exploring the regional differences and subtle nuances of influences such as
terroir. Travis Watson Queensland State manager for our wine partner Red & White will enlighten you on his favourite
topic with great knowledge and anecdotes. Complimented by delicious sample dishes expertly matched and prepared by
our very own Head Chef Bruce McKenna and his culinary team.

Favourite Drink: Would have to be mojito, especially after sampling some of the rums at the recent Rhum
Masterclass at the Club.
Favourite holiday destination: Australia! There is so much to see and do, from the raw beauty of the outback to
the best beaches in the world.
Secret skill: Superman level hearing. It makes me great at eavesdropping!
Why do I enjoy the club? It has a great bunch of people who are down to earth and easy to talk to.
A Polo Club tip for new members? Just come along. You will meet great people and eat delicious food.
The drink isn’t bad either!
Other: I am currently involved in establishing a Brisbane chapter of the Irish Australian Chamber of Commerce.
The group will meet on a monthly basis starting on 16 April 2015 and is open to all. Those interested are welcome
