A
fter a well attended community
open house at Selah Middle
School to showcase the District's
newest facility, progress continues to
be built as construction work remains.
At the middle school site, the old
junior high has been completely demolished with remnants being removed from the grounds. However,
before school begins next fall remaining projects include systems work,
clean-up around the school, and the

Upcoming Retirement Seminars:
• The Department of Retirement
puts on a workshop each spring.
This year's workshop is scheduled for Saturday, June 6, from
9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Registration through the DRS website is required at www.drs.wa.gov.
• There is also the opportunity to
contact DRS and schedule a oneon-one appointment with a retirement specialist in Olympia. To contact please call 1-800-547-6657 or

• The 2015 W-4 form (withholding
tax) is located on the District's website under Departments/Human
Resources/Forms.

• Don't forget the convenience of
direct deposit‒funds are deposited into your account at midnight
the night before payday!

• Clock Hours and Credits:
Certificated staff may send all official transcripts and/or clock hour forms to
Kathy in Human Resources for credits earned for your credit record at any
time. Official transcripts and clock hour reports must be received in Human Resources by September 15, 2015, for any changes in salary schedule placement
for the 2015-2016 school year.
• Immunizations:
If you received a letter regarding immunizations, remember to send that information to Kathy in Human Resources as soon as possible so she can update
your records.
• Address Information:
As a reminder, employees can change their mailing information on their own.
To do so:
* Access Skyward
* Go to Employee Access
* Access Employee Information
* Click on Personal Information
* Click on the Address Link
* Hit the Request Changes option
* Make the desired address update
* Hit the Save button

Kudos to You and You...
• KUDOS to the Selah School District Administrative
Office Team for their effort in doing their best work and
being their best selves each and every day!
• A BIG THANKS to the Selah Middle School Staff for
a smooth transition into the new building!
• KUDOS to the amazing office ladies from Selah Middle
School, Anja Thompson, Sheila Maier, Karon Thomas, and Lacey Temple, for being so patient and carrying the load during the move into the new school.

• KUDOS to Susie Bennett for keeping the focus this

• KUDOS to Selah High School's Michelle McCartney,
for her energy and wonderful work with our students!
• Kudos to Antonia Gonzalez Caro from Selah High
School for starting the new Spanish Club.
• KUDOS to Sophia Ferguson for pushing/prodding
and not giving up on one of her Selah Academy online
students this year...a cohort of the SHS Class of 2014
graduated last week, Selah Academy's second of the
calendar year!
• KUDOS to Selah Academy's Karen Jochen, for her
hard work in learning the ins and outs of online testing
for the ELA 10/11 Smarter Balanced, as well as preparing her students for the language and rigor. In the
recent Interim Assessment given to her students, 80%
met or exceeded standard on the listening portion.
• KUDOS to Selah HomeLink's Stacey DeWet, for attending the 40th Annual Washington Association for
Learning Alternatives Spring Conference. Stacey attended several sessions hoping to "borrow long-term"
student learning ideas for the District's growing HomeLink Program.
A Little Something to Brag About
• We always knew he was great but now he is a grandpa too! Congratulations to great-grandpa Rick Main on the birth
of his great-grandchild! Congratulations!
