Too often, we forget that most people learn best by doing—over and over
again, without penalty, gradually perfecting a concept or skill, until we get it
right. Experiential learning is the art of creating opportunities for failure in
order to help students to succeed.
With the recent large scale vulnerabilities and increased online threats, security
awareness is taking center stage for many institutions. In this pre-conference
workshop, you will learn how design a security awareness program that's right
for your organization. Additionally, you'll learn where to find materials and how
to get help!

Moodle is typically used in traditional education settings as an LMS. Many do
not see it as a viable, low-cost, option in the corporate environment. This
presentation will include the ups and downs of the implementation process
and the considerations needed for corporate use of Moodle for both internal
and customer-facing learners.
Texas A&M Engineering Experiment Station and Quality Matters are partnering
to form "Texas Coalition for Excellence in Flexible Learning" to create a tide
that will raise boats in Texas for online learning. Institutions can join at an
affordable rate and benefit from membership services, trainings, and peer
review opportunities.
Schoology is free and easy to implement among professionals for virtual PLC’s,
professional development and even teacher classroom use. See how easy it is
to set up your community, share resources and create your online professional
development or teacher courses.
From studios and innovative classrooms to mobile devices, videoconferencing
is dramatically enhancing the way we teach and learn. We'll explore how
organizations take a different approach using videoconferencing to enhance
their learning capability. We will discuss how organizations add connections
for learning, in addition, to securing funding for videoconferencing.

challenge Call Manager. It seems appropriate to check back to see how this
battle is developing.

When instructional designers and web developers hear the phrase, "designing
for all users", they often think...508 Compliance. But what if you began to think
outside of the box, in fact, throw the box away.
This presentation examines the results of a recent investigation that probed
the perceptions of graduate students regarding synchronous events, including:
Do students expect live events? Do participants believe that they influence
learner motivation, performance, and persistence? Should attendance be
required? Should Webcams be mandatory expectation for everyone attending
live events?
The “PEET” is an online localized “TWEET” concept bringing versatility to online
teaching strategies. Utilizing the Online Text function of the distance education
platform, this method allows faculty to post a question or phrase for
completion. Students respond with 140 characters providing faculty with
insightful feedback of concepts or ideas.

Speaking heart-to-heart with other instructional-designers and trainers: how
do we reach our weak users, the ones who don’t seem to get it? What are their
learning hangups? My hypothesis: anxiety, or fear. By understanding what
stands in their way, perhaps we can alleviate that fear, and better reach these
users.
Tarrant County College has had some success with three faculty development
events, designed to fit different sized budgets, and somewhat scalable. This trio
will give an overview of these opportunities, their implementation, budget,
and overall effectiveness for both full-time and part-time faculty.
