About the College
Mar Baselios Christian College of Engineering & Technology is a self-financing institution for professional education, affiliated to Mahatma
Gandhi University, Kottayam and approved by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The College is owned and
managed by the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, which plays a paternal role in the institution's establishment and operations. The
institution focuses on offering engineering degree programs in various streams.
In 2001, our college started functioning as a new generation Engineering College. Since its inception, the college has been on a steady path
of growth and up-gradation. Our aim is to provide our students with the best possible facilities and the right training. We emphasize on
teaching excellence and wholesome learning experience and strive towards making MBC a premier educational institution. With the
various batches of students already passed out with flying colours, the college cherishes its long term objective of being a centre of
excellence, as far as quality education and student life is concerned.
The MBC College has continued its advancement as a centre for learning and public service coupled with excellent university exam results,
high profile campus placements and cultural activities. The full time B.Tech enrolment of about 1600 students, the emphasis on teaching
excellence, and the increasingly high proportion of students and teaching faculty residing in the campus highlight the personal collegiate
atmosphere that makes the MBC Campus quite unique. The peace and tranquility of the campus are ideal for spiritual and intellectual

ADMISSION
MBC offers five B.Tech programmes (4- year course) and two
M.Tech programmes (2-year course) of M.G University.
Available seats under each B.Tech course is categorized into NRI
Quota (15%), Management Quota (35%), Govt. Quota & Govt. fee
waiver quota (50%) which is filled by Commissioner of Entrance
Examination.

Our college has well developed administrative cum
academic block which contains Management
Representatives' Rooms, Principal's Office, Conference Hall,
Seminar Hall, Lecture Halls, Faculty Rooms and HODs'
Rooms. Other blocks include Mechanical Workshop,
Library, Cooperative Society, General Purpose Class
Rooms, Various Laboratories etc.
Residential Facilities
Our college, which is one of the biggest residential colleges in
Kerala, offers 24X7 Wi-Fi access, reading room, fitness centre and
recreational area. There are four separate hostels for boys and
girls. Unique residential facilities include Principal's quarters,
staff's quarters and family quarters which add another dimension
to the concept of fully residential college.
Computer Centre
MBC has well equipped computer centre besides three computer
labs. All the terminals have round- the- clock internet access.
Sports & Fitness Centre
Our college has a fully functioning multi gym for both students
and staff which could be used in morning and evening. The
volleyball court, basketball court, indoor badminton court and
athletic ground provides ample platform for all recreational
activities.
MBC College stands on the top in sports achievements among
other colleges under MG University. With vibrant basketball base
from its inception, the department of Physical education of the
college has proved its distinction in many other games. The
conduct of H.H. Baselios Marthoma Mathews II Memorial
basketball tournament and football tournament in the memory of
the founder trustee C.N. George Memorial in unbroken succession
since 2001 is a testimonial to the abiding dedication of the
department in sports.

MBC has fully furnished and air-conditioned Conference hall

Cafeteria
College buses are provided for the comfortable conveyance for the staff
and students. Daily trips are available to Mundakayam, Pampady,
Peermade, Kattapana and Kumily along with weekend trips to Kottayam,
Pathanamthitta, Adoor, Thiruvalla and Parumala.
Open seven days a week, the college cafeteria is an ideal place
for foodies. Continental and traditional food, Kerala meals

engineering branches. It is a branch with a lot of diversities with various key
subjects focusing on Geotechnical Sciences, Structural Engineering,

etc. Civil Engineering is the most sought-aſter among all Engineering branches.

Alumni Association of MBCCET is very active and 'SAMYANA' is the annual get
together of its proud members. The association is duly represented by passed
out students from every batch from the beginning and the teaching faculty
members. The activities are guided by an executive committee including
nominated members at the annual general body meeting. The association
makes every effort to strengthen industry institute tie ups, exposure visits,
project works and placements to the benefit of students. At MBC the alma

The Parent Teacher Association has been instrumental in developing and
maintaining an enduring relation between the faculty and the parents, right
from the inception stage. It is intended to be benevolent in ensuring quality and
result oriented curriculum.
NSS
The National Service Scheme provides a platform for various types of social
service activities. The students are involved in health awareness programmes
and Technical awareness programmes for members of underprivileged
communities. The unit kickstarted the socially responsible activities at the
adopted village in Pothupara, Peermade Grama Panchayath and played a
significant role in making the pine forest at Vagamon a plastic free zone. NSS
technical cell of MBC won 'State level Best Unit' and 'Best Volunteer Award' for
the academic year 2013-2014
MGOCSM
MGOCSM (Mar Gregorios Orthodox Christian Student Movement) is the student
wing of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church. It is formed to bring together
Orthodox students at college and high school levels and to create brotherly love
in them. The main activities of the movement are focused on three themes
namely Worship, Study and Service.
Entrepreneurship Development Cell
Entrepreneurship is the process of starting a business or organization based
on innovative ideas. Entrepreneurship Development Cell (E-Cell) of MBC has
been established with the objective of creating, fostering and promoting the
spirit of entrepreneurship among students of MBC. We support, give training
and consultation on innovative ideas, student startups, business plan
development, develop managerial and marketing skills and help students for
obtaining angel investments. We believe that the entrepreneurship not only
pushes India to the forefront of the world but also helps in raising quality of
