Some people love “Themed Baby Showers.” Others choose not
to have a theme. If you’re not sure…consult with the mom-to-be

Pickles & Ice Cream Theme
· Tie some raffia around empty pickle jars and use them as
flower vases
· Place potted plants into clean, empty ice cream pints
· Decorate with green and pink balloons
· Cover tables with pink and green table cloths
· Place pink and green jelly bellies in empty baby food jars
and place on tables
· Serve an ice cream cake decorated with green pickle
shaped icing & polka dots
· Set up an ice cream bar with tons of toppings such as
nuts,sprinkles, caramel and chocolate sauce, cherries,

In A Pod", "Three Peas In A Pod" or "A Little Pea In A Pod"
· Pea Pod Balloons ~ For some cute, simple and inexpensive
baby shower decorations, take some balloons and wrap
them in green cellophane, tie at both ends to resemble a
pea pod (use one, two or three balloons depending on the
number of babies expected :)) Make some with large
balloons and some with small balloons. Spread
throughout the room or hang from the ceiling!
· Cute "Pea" Candles ~ Save empty baby food jars and fill
them with green jelly bellies. Place a tea light on top and
light. Place them on the main table and throughout the room.
· Pea in A Pod Cookies ~ Make up a batch of sugar cookie
dough, cut into circle shapes using a round glass, bake and
frost with green frosting! Viola - cute little peas! You can even
add eyes with black icing.
· Pea in A Pod Cake ~ For a simple baby shower cake idea,
make one, two or three round cakes, frost them green and
put eyes on them with an icing tube. Embellish with some
vine-like greenery from a craft store.

Perfect Pea Salad
1/2 cup mayonnaise
2 Tbsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. sugar
1 (10 oz.) package frozen peas (thawed)
2 cups cauliflower
1 can (8 oz.) sliced water chestnuts (drained)
1/4 cup chopped red onion
1/4 cup cashews
salt and pepper to taste
Mix mayonnaise, lemon juice and sugar until well blended. Add
all of the remaining ingredients except cashews; mix well.
Refrigerate.
Sprinkle with cashews just before serving. Makes 6 cups.

There are so many creative ideas for a ships ahoy theme!
· Float mini boats in some yummy blue baby shower punch
· Instead of bobbing for apples -- bob for pacifiers! Have
guests put their hands behind their back and try to grab as
many pacifiers out of the tub as they can...
Whoever gets the most wins! (tip: go to the dollar store for
low-cost pacifiers)
· For napkin rings, make some life safety rings out of heavy
card stock, print the baby's name or shower date on them
and put a napkin through the hole
· Fill a large plastic toy boat full of baby goodies such as
diapers, pacifiers, onesies, socks, etc. Place in the center of
the table for the perfect centerpiece! And also your gift to
baby!
· Bake a batch of sugar cookies and cut into sailboat, beach

Best Baby Shower Games
Take a mint ~ This is a fun baby shower game idea! As guests
come through the door offer them some mints (or any small
candy in a bowl.) After everyone has arrived, go around the
room and have each person tell an interesting fact (or facts)
about themselves. How ever many mints they have taken is the
amount of interesting facts they have to divulge.
Baby Under Your Chair ~ A classic baby shower game idea!
Tape the word baby under a chair. The guest who finds this
under her chair wins a prize. (Can also tape it under a plate or
cup)
Left Right Game ~ Have guests sit in a circle and hand one of
the guests a wrapped present. Don't let her open it yet. Begin
telling the following story (each time you say the word LEFT
they have to pass it to the person on their left. Each time you
say RIGHT pass it to the right.) The guest left holding the gift at
the end of the story is the winner! Here is the story to read
aloud to the guests:
Mrs. Right was on her way to a baby shower. She accidentally took a
Right instead of a Left and got lost. Mrs. Right Left her house at 12:45
and arrived Right on time at 1:00. But Mrs. Right Left her gift at home!
She was not in her Right mind today. Mrs. Right left the shower and went

Don't Cross Your Legs ~ Give each guest a clothes pin when
they enter. Anytime somebody crosses their legs the first
person who catches them gets the clothes pin. Person with the
most clothes pins at the end wins. The game ends at a
designated time, or after one person has all the clothes pins.
Safety Pin in Rice Game ~ Fill a small bowl 3/4 full with dry
rice. Add small safety pins to the mix. Blindfold each guest and
give them the chance to remove as many safety pins as
possible in one minute. The guest who finds the most pins wins
the game. This baby shower game idea is actually pretty hard
to do since the pins and the rice feel the same. Make sure to
return all the pins into the bowl before each guest starts. Then
everyone gets a fair chance at winning! Preparation: small
bowl, small safety pins, uncooked rice, blindfold, paper and pen
to record guest results.
What's in a Purse? ~ First have the mother-to-be make a list of
about 8 random items (spoon, utility bill, gum, etc.) Things
normally not found in a purse. (You would be surprised what
some women have in their purse.) The first person who shouts
out I've got that, wins! You have a winner for each item.

Dirty Diaper Game ~ Great for couples showers! Using a
Sharpie pen, number 6-8 disposable diapers. Melt or smash
different kinds of candy (M&M's, Snickers, Baby Ruth, Reese's
Peanut Butter Cups) into each diaper. Give each guest a piece
of paper numbered 1-8 (or however many diapers you are
using.) Pass the diapers with the smashed candy around the
room. Each guest must examine and smell the contents of the
diaper to determine what the candy is. Then they write down
which candy bar they think is on each diaper. The guest with
the most right wins a prize. Have your camera ready for
this game; you will get some priceless pictures!
The Candy Bar Game ~ Buy the following candy bars and tape
them to a large piece of poster board. Hand out paper and a
pen to each guest. Begin reading off each clue and have guests
write down which candy bar goes with each clue. The guest
with the most correct wins a prize, or a candy bar! If more than
one person wins, have them each pick their favorite candy bar.

Winner Takes “All” Baby Shower Game ~ Announce that you
are playing a game called “Winner Takes All” - this game is
played by passing around a large clear glass vase to all
attendees. They will then be asked to put in however much
cash they want. After this, everyone will be asked to guess the
amount in the jar. The person who gets the closest to guessing
the right amount will win ALL detergent while the mother-to-be
gets the cash!
Mom the Multi-tasked Baby Shower Game ~ For this baby
shower game you will need a clothesline or long heavy string,
some clothespins, some onesies, burp cloths, a baby doll, a
bottle and a phone. Each person takes turns "talking" on the
phone while feeding the baby & hanging the laundry. The
player who hangs all of the laundry in the least amount of time
wins.
"Opening Gift Phrases" baby shower game ~ as the motherto-be opens gifts, record the sounds and words she says
without her knowing. After all the presents are open, tell her the
following words, sounds and phrases were also stated when
the baby was conceived. It's hilarious as the sounds are usually
oohh, aaahh, and phrases like, "that’s so cute" and "ooohh its
so little" and "wow, its so soft"!
PERFECT COUPLES/CO-ED GAMES…
Beer "Bottle" Game ~ this game is a little challenging. But it is
a great icebreaker. The men at the shower may be feeling a
little out of place. This one should loosen them up a bit. Take
four or five volunteers from the party. Fill four or five 4 oz. baby
bottles full of beer. Hand each one of the contestants a bottle,
and say ready, set, drink! The guest to finish his/her bottle first
is the winner.
Wet Diaper ~ for this game you will need to break up into
groups of 3-4. Give each group a disposable newborn sized
diaper, a large pitcher of water and a measuring cup. Have
each group predict how many cups of water they think the
diaper will be able to hold without any water leaking out of it.
Have them write down their prediction before beginning. The
group who comes closest wins a fabulous prize!
It Takes Two, Baby ~ Have each couple stand side by side,
shoulder to shoulder. Give each couple a baby doll and an outfit
to dress her in. Have the man use only his right hand and the
woman use only her left hand to assist each other in dressing
the baby. This is a hard one, but funny!

· Hang a clothesline (heavy yarn or string) across the room and
put clothespins on it, and every time the mom-to-be opens a
cute outfit, socks, bibs or a blanket, hang it up on the
clothesline, so you can all see it. Very cute!
· Get some fabric squares and have each guest decorate one
with permanent marker (and write their name on it, too), then
have a crafty person sew them all together and make a baby
quilt out of them!

guests can use. Food, candles or soaps…always a winner!
Hugs and Kisses ~ fill an organza bag with Hershey's Hugs
and Kisses. Attach a cute tag that says "hugs and kisses from
baby (last name.)"
Diaper Soap ~ cut a small triangle out of baby printed fabric.
Fold the sides in and form a "diaper" around a scented bar of
soap (rectangle or square shaped soap work best.) Fasten with
a safety pin or diaper pin. Guests will love these!
Baby Shower Fortune Cookies ~ Dip one side of a fortune
cookie in white chocolate and put pink or blue sprinkles on it.
Then get some mini-sized Chinese take out boxes at a craft
store and wrap them up to put inside. On the handle take a tag
and some ribbon and put "We're so "fortunate" to have a new
baby in the family. Welcome Baby _______!"
Sugar Cookies ~ Bake a batch of sugar cookies that have
been cut into cute baby shower shapes like bottles, rattles,
diapers (check your local craft store for cute cookie cutters).
Frost with colorful frosting (Simply use cake frosting that comes
in the small tubs and color it with food coloring.) Wrap the
cookies in cellophane and tie with pretty ribbon.
Rice Krispie Pops ~ Stir up a batch of Rice Krispie treats. Cut
into squares and insert a lollipop stick into the end of each
square (you can find lollipop sticks at craft stores.) Attach a
sugared cake decoration to each bar (found at grocery or craft
stores in the cake section.) Wrap in cellophane and tie with a
bow.
Small Potted Plants ~ Buy some mini terra cotta pots (paint
them if you’re feeling crafty) and plant some colorful pansies in
them. Make a cute sign using cardstock and a popsicle stick –
write the shower information on it and poke it into the pot.

Brunch Ideas
Easy Three Cheese Quiche - Yum!
Serves 6
Ingredients
• 3/4 cup Swiss cheese, shredded
• 3/4 cup cheddar cheese, shredded
• 3/4 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
• 6 eggs
• 2 tablespoons finely diced onion
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1 cup half & half
• 3/4 cup skim or whole milk
• 1 tablespoon flour
• One 9-inch pie crust
Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Bake pie crust for 5 minutes. Add
all ingredients to a large mixing bowl and whisk together. Pour
into prepared pie crust. Bake 45-55 minutes. Insert a knife into
the center of the quiche. If it comes out clean, it is done. Let
stand 5 minutes before serving.
Fruit Kabobs
Cut up some in-season fruit and slide it onto some skewers for
instant fruit kabobs! Easy to do and very impressive!
Pineapple, watermelon, cantaloupe, honeydew, grapes, kiwi,
strawberries...all make wonderful kabobs!
Best Ever Coffee Cake
1 pkg white or yellow cake mix
4 eggs
1 small pkg vanilla instant pudding mix
3/4 c. water
3/4 c. oil
1 T. vanilla extract
3 T. sugar, mixed with 1 1/2 t. cinnamon
1 c. chopped walnuts
Mix cake mix, eggs, pudding mix, water, oil and vanilla with a
mixer until well blended. Pour batter into a greased 9 x 13" pan.
Sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar and walnuts. Bake at 350
degrees for 30 minutes.
Drizzle with icing and serve
Quick and Yummy Icing :
Whisk together the following:
2 T. milk
1 t. vanilla
1/2 c. powdered sugar
Appetizers - Finger Foods - Main Dishes
Mini Chicken Salad Croissants
1 1/2 c. cooked chicken breast, minced
1/4 c. mayonnaise
1/2 c. minced celery
1/4 c. cashews, broken into bits
Combine ingredients and scoop onto mini croissants. Also
delicious on baguette slices, crackers or mini pitas!
World's Best Hot Taco Dip
1st Layer:
1 lb. browned hamburger
1 pkg. taco seasoning
1 can refried beans
Combine above ingredients and place into a 9x13" baking dish.
2nd Layer:
Mix 1 1/2 c. sour cream and 1/2 bottle of green taco sauce.
Spread over hamburger mixture. Top with grated cheese.
Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Serve with tortilla chips.
This is a great low-carb dish – simply substitute celery sticks for
the tortilla chips.
Artichoke Dip
1 can water-packed artichoke hearts, drained
1 lb. mozzarella cheese, grated
1/2 c. Parmesan cheese, grated
1 c. mayonnaise
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
Cut up artichoke hearts and put in bottom of dish. Mix all
ingredients and put over artichokes. Bake at 350 degrees until
brown and bubbly.
Themed Cheeses
Find some miniature-sized cookie cutters in the theme of a
baby shower (teddy bears, bottles, rattles, etc.) Using a knife,
slice some cheese no thicker than the cookie cutter. Press the
cutters down into the sliced cheese. Arrange the cheese
shapes on a platter with salami
and crackers.
Amazing Sweet and Sour Meatballs
You will need:
1 bag of home style meatballs
2 1 lb jars of grape jelly
1 bottle of your favorite BBQ sauce
Put everything in crock-pot and simmer on medium until
everything melts together and mixes well. So easy!

This is such a delicious salad! And it makes the perfect baby

Ingredients:
5 regular Snickers candy bars, refrigerated, cut up into small
chunks 5 green apples, cut up into small chunks (any kind of
apple will do)
1 carton whipped topping
Directions:
Mix candy pieces, apples and whipped topping together... that's
it! After 1 bite you will never want a "green" salad again.
Salad in Shells Baby Shower Recipe

1 (16 ounce) package jumbo pasta shells
4 cups chopped romaine lettuce
1/2 cup chopped fresh basil
1 cup coarsely chopped cooked chicken
1 cup coarsely chopped tomatoes
3/4 cup coarsely chopped cucumbers
3 ounces Italian hard salami, chopped cont...
1/3 cup roasted garlic vinaigrette dressing
Cook pasta shells as directed on the package.
Drain and cool.
Place remaining ingredients except vinaigrette in a medium
bowl.
Pour vinaigrette over the salad, toss to coat.
Stuff the shells with the salad.
Cover and refrigerate 2 hours before serving.

Perfect Punch Recipes
Easiest Baby Shower Punch
1- 2 liter bottle of Sprite or 7up
1 container of any kind of sherbet
This is a simple and yummy party punch. Add different sherbet
flavors (raspberry, orange etc.) to change the color or flavor to
fit your shower theme.
Pink Party Punch
1 (48oz) can pineapple juice
1 (20oz) can frozen lemonade (pink)
1 cup sugar
1 pint cranberry cocktail juice
2 (1 1/2 liters) bottles ginger ale
Combine all ingredients except ginger ale
When ready to use, add cold ginger ale.
Garnish with maraschino cherries or pineapple rings.
Lucky Duck Blue Punch
1 (0.13 ounce) package berry blue flavored unsweetened KoolAid drink mix
1 (2 liter) bottle lemon-lime flavored carbonated beverage
1 (64 fluid ounce) bottle white cranberry juice
8 scoops vanilla ice cream
1 cup white sugar, or to taste
3-5 new, clean mini rubber duckies (dollar store)
In a large punch bowl, stir together the Kool-Aid, lemon-lime
soda and white cranberry juice. Taste, and stir in sugar to your
liking. Float scoops of ice cream on the top. The ice cream
melts a bit and turns the punch a beautiful baby blue color with
