KANO CHRONICLE Wednesday, April 8, 2015 chronicle arts & entertainment III news Why I’m focusing on inspirational songs - Mic Flamer SALAHUDDEEN Auwal Hallai also known as Mic Flamer is a young talented musician with growing popularity in the modern entertainment industry. In this interview the Kano state born artist, talks about his life as a musician and many more. Biography I was born in Tarauni local government of Kano state on the 21st march, 1985. I started school from Nursery in 1989 at ‘AT’ international school and I did my primary school at Bayero University Kano staff school and from there I was admitted into Federal Government College, Kiyawa in Jigawa State. After my secondary school graduation I ventured into music, a dream that I have been nurturing all along. After making a significant impact in the industry, I decided to go back to school. In 2006 I went back to Kano state polytechnic where I studied diploma in Art and Industrial Design. After that I came back to face music which is Hip-Hop. Parent’s approval Taking into consideration the conservativeness of my geographical location, it is apparent that one My lyrics is that album is such that whoever listen will understand that I am promoting peace as against hate the habitual hip-hop artist were known for is bound to face issues of not getting approval. Per sonally, I faced lots of problem with my parents on my choice of carrier. However, all that is story now as they have given me their consent. I thank God now they have understood that life is all about making a choice. I now enjoy their blessings where ever I go. And due to that I have been witnessing a lot of positive development in what I do. I would not have been a musician had it been they say a total ‘No’ to me; I am fully aware that as parents they always want what is good for me and that has kept me going from one success to the other. That is why at every slightest opportunity I always tell my friends, fans and well wishers to remain loyal to their parent, they should always fear God in whatever they do. Albums produced As I have stated earlier, I started music in 2003 with series of singles such as Garin da Nisa, Rap Attack and No Rons No Job which I did under Algaita Records before moving to Golden Brickz da Brickhouz. As an upcoming musician I have a lot of ideas on how to use my music to talk on the past and present to make the future bright. If you look at most of my music you will find out that they are more inspirational and more educative. I have gone through a lot in life and I am using my music to inspire people to move ahead against all odds. However, I have release a promo copy of my album ‘Kano ta Dabo’ sometime ago and I have concluded all plans to release it this year. It is an album that I carefully composed to send positive messages to the masses to guide them through the right path. My lyrics in that album are such that whoever listens will understand that I am promoting peace as against hate the habitual hip-hop artists were known for. Challenges It is apparent that life is not all bed of roses; I have faced a lot of challenges from other artists and also from friends who see nothing good in what I am doing. However, that did not deter me, instead it made me more prepared, ready and capable of handling any challenge. Awards won I have won an Award in 2013 as Best Upcoming Hip Hop Artist at the Arewa Music and Movie Awards AMMA/KANNYWOOD awards Sponsored by MTN, and this year also I won Best Hip Hop Revelation Artist AMMA/KANNYWOOD awards, which took place in Kaduna State on 21 March,2015 which coincidently was my birthday. I had double celebration that day and I thank all my fans and my good colleagues in the industry such as Nomiis G, AbdulkadirAbdulrahman, KazeemYakeem, Hamzy da King, Dr pure, Billy O, Hassan MohdAuwal, Sonicman, among others for their support. Relationship I am not into any serious relationship for now; the only serious relationship I have is with my musical carrier.
