Annual Scholarship Award
2015 Application
Applicants must be past or current members of the 214th Field Artillery Battalion, or the spouses,
children, or grandchildren of past or current members of the 214th Field Artillery Battalion. There will be
five scholarships offered this year, one for each battery. Each award will be in the amount of $500.

This should come from a person of influence in your life who knows you well enough to
establish a firm and true representation of your character and capabilities. Consider carefully
who you ask for your letter of recommendation, as it counts strongly toward the scholarship
consideration.

Be specific and use dates when possible. Keep in mind that both adult Soldiers and
high school students will be applying, so you will want to adjust the below categories to your
particular situation as you write your accomplishments page.

Essay:

Your essay will be in regard to the Soldier of the 214th Field Artillery Battalion to whom
you are related and how that Soldierʼs service has influenced your life. If you are the Soldier,
describe how your military experience relates to the continuation of your higher education.
Essays should not exceed 300 words.
