ART RECEPTIONS / PERFORMANCES IN DOWNTOWN:
1. *NEW* INDIGO ARCHITECTS, 909 Fifth St., 530-795-5500; reception, 6 – 9
p.m., “Recent Works,” Sayako Dairiki, oil paintings. Come by to see the unique and
intricate art and architecture at Indigo Architects’ new home. Meet the artist and enjoy

p.m., “Full Circle,” Emme Van Vorhis, unique mandalas in watercolor and ink, through

6:30 – 9:30 p.m., “World Dance Admist Eucalyptus Pods,” Chantelle Goldthwaite,
colorful and abstracted eucalyptus pods painted with acrylic and mixed media on paper,
through April 20. The art will surround the walls, while World Dance Performers take
center stage for one night only (4/10). Come by for refreshments, entertainment, and
art!

art by the current students of Davis High School’s AP Art Studio class. In Ms. Diem’s AP
Art Studio class, students paint in their own unique style while absorbing from others’
works.
11. CORK IT AGAIN WINE SELLER, 820 Fourth St., 530-756-WINE; reception, 5
– 9 p.m., Lisa Perdichizzi, local mural artist, acrylic on canvas. Enjoy complimentary
appetizers, wine by the glass for $3, and live music!
12. DAVIS ODD FELLOWS LODGE, 415 Second St.; performance, 7 – 8 p.m., “Odd
Poetry”, immediately outside (or inside if inclement weather) the Odd Fellows Lodge,
you will find the Odd Poets. Stop by for a few minutes or for the full hour for spoken
word, poetry, verse, humor, and fun. Since this is an open mic event, this is your
chance to grace the stage with your presence, and share with us your own favorite
poems (original and otherwise)!
13. F ST. GALLERY OF HALLMARK INN, 110 F St.; reception, 5:30 – 8:30 p.m.,
“PFAA Showcase,” the Performing and Fine Arts Academy of Natomas Charter School
serves grades 6 – 12, and offers a unique balance or rigorous academic instruction and
intensive instruction in performing and fine arts. Over 60 works will be on display in a
variety of medium created by the PFAA students! Meet the artists, administrators and
teachers, and enjoy food and wine during their art reception.

14. FRETTED STRINGS, 231 G St., Suite 27 (Court-N-Cedar, upstairs); reception,
7 – 8:30 p.m., Live music with Tree-O, a jazz-flavored, acoustic string trio from Davis.
Tree-O gives a modern interpretation to Americana string band instrumentation: three
voices supported by guitar, mandolin, Dobro and bass, always marked by the band’s
signature tight arranging, well-crafted vocal harmony and driving accompaniment.
Harrison Phipps & his lutherie students will be present with their handmade instruments
on display.

Pru, classic modern art, mixed media paintings and ink sketches. See work by Chef Pru

Davis Artists,” preview work by thirty artists who will be on the Davis Artists’ Studio
Tour. DAST is a self-guided tour, exploring the “secret lives of artists” and their studios
on the weekend of April 11 and 12. Tickets are available at The Artery for $10. During
ArtAbout night, enjoy light refreshments and their exhibit featuring various artists,
including: Christopher Dewees, Marie-Therese Brown, Emma Luna, Marjan Kluepfel,
Phil Gross, Sara Post, and Thomas Post.

“Reflections,” Jeffrey Granett, abstract-like drypoint and linoleum prints rendered from
reflections in windows and from nature, through June 30. Come out for an artist’s

and Free,” Jenn Drake, paintings of people and animals in vivid and surreal colors, in
