Bear Necessities: Grizzly Bear Show

Rocky Mountain Wild (RMW)
What are the “bear necessities” for living like a wild grizzly? Emmett and Digger invite you to come by and see what natural
behaviors make bears perfectly adapted for living in their rugged mountain homes. From climbing to fishing, you’ve never
seen the bears quite like this. You may even catch some training that allows us to take better care of the bears in their home
here at the Zoo. Don’t miss a grizzly good time!

Hand-feed our reticulated giraffe! Reticulated what? We’re talking about the type of sub-species of our herd. The scientific
name, Giraffa camelopardalis reticulata, means camel-leopard-like one who walks swiftly. If you’re a Cheyenne Mountain
Zoo member, be sure to take advantage of the special members-only discounted frequent feeding card.

Hey cowpokes! Hop up in the saddle and take Old Paint for a ride at Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. We have a mess
of trusty steeds in all sizes and colors for the young’uns. Each pony and rider is individually led by a wrangler around a
circular trail, nestled in Rocky Mountain Wild. It’s an old west adventure they’ll never forget.
Note: Riders must be old enough to sit up in the saddle, although parents are permitted to walk along beside their cowpoke.
And we’ll ask that every rider wear a helmet, just for safety sake.

Enjoy a one-on-one feeding experience with Jumbe, our black rhino. You can hand-feed Jumbe two snack items. Feedings
are first come, first served and is limited to 30 minutes, but may be shorter if the rhino chooses. Sessions are weatherdependent and subject to cancellation.
