Executive Digital Editor
James Oseland has been the editor-inchief of Saveur, America’s most critically
acclaimed food magazine, since 2006.
Under his editorship, the magazine has won
more than 30 awards, including eight James
Beard journalism awards, and multiple

Society of Magazine Editors, including a
2012 award for best feature in the leisure
interest category. James has also been an
editor at Vogue, Organic Style, Sassy, the
Village Voice, and Mademoiselle. In 2006
his book, Cradle of Flavor, a memoir with
recipes about the years he spent living
in Southeast Asia, was published and
went on to win awards from the James
Beard Foundation and the International
Association of Culinary Professionals. It
was named one of the best books of that
year by Time Asia, The New York Times,
and Good Morning America. He is the
also the editor of the books Saveur: The
New Comfort Food, published in May 2011;
Saveur: The Way We Cook, published in
November 2012; and the best-selling ebook,
Saveur: Easy Italian. James is a judge on

Executive editor Betsy Andrews handles
the Drink, Cellar, and Routes columns,
as well as features at Saveur. She is a
former critic for the Dining Section of the
New York Times, where she contributed
regularly to the “25 & Under” and “Dining
Briefs” columns and wrote occasional
features. In 2005, she created Food &
Wine magazine’s first-ever blog, “On the
Line in New Orleans,” an inside look at
the rebuilding of New Orleans’ restaurant
industry after Hurricane Katrina. She was
the online editor at This Old House, and as
an editor at Zagat Survey, she compiled
restaurant guides for destinations around
the world. She has also written about dining
and drink for Chow, Arrive, Penthouse,
and other publications, and she teaches
food writing at Media Bistro. When she
is not writing about food, Betsy is writing
poetry: her book, New Jersey (University
of Wisconsin Press, 2007), won the 2007
Brittingham Prize in Poetry. Her new book,
The Bottom, received the 42 Miles Press
Poetry Prize. It comes out September 2014.
