Night time concrete pour in the vicinity of Whitechapel
Station
Crossrail’s contractor BBMV is currently carrying out a
programme of station upgrade activity in and around Whitechapel
Station. A new station staircase and lift shaft is currently being
constructed to the eastern end of Whitechapel Station.
We will be constructing sections of the lift shafts by means of a
small concrete pour between 01:00 and 05:00 early on Thursday
21 May 2015. The work must take place at this time, when the
railway is not operational, for safety reasons.
This activity will be serviced by a concrete skip which will be
stationed within the site area in Kempton Court. One concrete
lorry will visit the site area during the work.
During these works we will try to minimise disruption to the local
community. This will include using best practical means to
minimise any noise generated by our works in order to meet the
requirements set by the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
Duration of work
• A small concrete pour
from the site area in
Kempton Court from
01:00 to 05:00 early on
Thursday 21 May 2015
What to expect
• One concrete lorry
located in the site area
within Kempton Court
during the concrete
pours
What we will do
• Monitor noise and dust
when carrying out
activities in the vicinity of
Whitechapel Station. We
will keep within the
levels permitted by the
London Borough of
Tower Hamlets
