eastern edge of London’s Med City.
Whitechapel Underground station is directly
adjacent to the site with underground,
overground and from 2018 Crossrail. This
transport hub puts the Heathrow within 60
minutes (38mins with Crossrail) and the vast
majority of London within easy reach.

Queen Mary University of London in
partnership with Barts Health NHS Trust are
creating a life science campus in Whitechapel
with over 2 hectares of redevelopment
space. The wider regeneration of the
Whitechapel area will lead to the creation of
3,500 homes and an estimated 5,000 jobs
building on the new Crossrail station, already
under construction and due for completion in
2018, is also adding to the infrastructure and
residential appeal of the area.
They aim to take advantage of this
confluence of circumstances to create new
opportunities for research and innovation
in life sciences in the heart of London. This
means the large and diverse patient base of
2.5 million served by Barts Health NHS Trust

The London Stansted Cambridge Consortium (LSCC) is the strategic partnership of public and private organisations covering the area north
from the Royal Docks, Tech City, the City Fringe, Kings Cross, and the Olympic Park, up through the Lee Valley, the M11, A1 and A10 road,
the East Coast and West Anglia Mainline rail corridors to Stevenage, Harlow and Stansted, and through to Cambridge and Peterborough.
The consortium brings together public and private sector organisations which have the common aim of seeking economic growth, higher
employment rates, providing places for people and business while preserving the quality and character of the corridor. It members include the
local authorities, LEPs, universities, colleges and key businesses within the corridor.
