Engineers! and! Architects,! the! largest! AAAEA! student! branch! in! the! nation! and! the!
first! UCLA! club! dedicated! to! the! professional! development! of! Arab! engineers! and!
architects,!as!well!as!that!of!Arabs!of!other!majors!and!students!of!ethnic!minorities.!
The! support! you! provide! will! help! empower! the! next! generation! of! engineers! and!
architects! who! will! shape! the! future! of! Arab! Americans! in! technical! fields! and! the!
future!of!Arabs!in!the!United!States!in!general.!
AAAEA! was! formed! to! help! bring! together! Arab! students! in! various! technical! and!
non&technical! fields,! and! provide! them! with! the! tools! necessary! to! bridge! from!
college!to!industry.!During!the!school!year,!we!organize!various!professionalism!and!
career! related! events! that!help!Arab!students!build! a!career,!learn! the!essentials! of!
the! industry,! and! meet! with! successful! Arab! entrepreneurs! and! executives! in!
different!technical!fields.!We!also!provide!many!programs!to!encourage!excellence!in!
education,! such! as! our! Engineering! Tutoring! program.! In! addition! to! that,! we! have!
outreach!programs,!which!allow!our!members!to!contribute!to!the!community,!such!
as!Volunteer!Days!and!Arab!Big!Brother!days,!in!which!we!allow!younger!students!to!
accompany!our!members!for!a!day!around!campus!to!learn!and!be!inspired!to!get!an!
education!in!a!technical!field!at!UCLA.!
With!over!50!members!already,!and!many!more!interested!in!joining,!we!will!require!
your! financial! support! to! fulfill! our! ambitious! goal! of! empowering! every! Arab!

Company(Infosessions!
Company! infosessions! are! events! where! students! can! meet! and! network! with!
company! representatives! and! explore! their! career! opportunities! throughout! the!
school! year.! It! also! gives! students! the! opportunity! to! educate! themselves! about!
various! companies,! technologies,! industries,! and! cultures! so! as! to! better! prepare!
them!for!a!professional!career.!Our!infosessions!are!unique!in!that!they!are!tailored!
to!our!audience!of!Arab!and!other!minority!students;!therefore!they!are!focused!on!
inviting!representatives!from!companies!which!can!relate!with!or!are!searching!for!
minority! students,! and! thereby! they! help! empower! conversation,! involvement,! and!
ultimately!the!professional!success!of!Arab!and!minority!students.!

Our! company! panel! events! are! similar! to! company! infosessions,! but! they! are! more!
focused! on! different! topics! of! discussion! rather! than! on! one! specific! company.!
Through! our! panels,! in! which! we! invite! several! professionals! of! different!
backgrounds!to!network!with!our!members!and!discuss!topics!important!to!the!Arab!
community,! we! strive! to! further! educate! and! empower! our! members! through! the!
discussion! of! topics! such! as! career! growth,! professional! ethics,! culture! integration,!
and!globalization.!Our!members!will!have!the!opportunity!to!be!exposed!to!various!
enriching! ideas,! guidelines,! and! pieces! of! advice! in! a! short! time,! and! will! also! be!

Our! workshops,! which! happen! once! a! quarter,! focus! on! topics! such! as! resume!
building,!the!ins!and!outs!of!an!interview,!communication!with!company!recruiters,!
professional! appearance,! and! other! skills! necessary! in! the! working! world.! Our!
members! will! be! able! to! experience! firsthand! what! companies! are! looking! for! in!

Arab%Big%Brother%Program!
!
The! Arab! Big! Brother! Program! is! a! shadow! day! program.! !Arab! and! Arab&
interested! high! school! students! from! across! the! state! of! California! can!
participate! in! this! program! to! learn! about! the! college! careers! of! UCLA!
engineering!students.!!This!program!aims!to!encourage!high!school!students!to!
value!the!importance!of!an!engineering!degree!and!realize!its!academic!process!
in!college.!!High!school!students!in!this!program!would!ultimately!learn!about!
engineering&related! classroom! settings,! engineering&related! degree!
requirements,! the! quality! of! required! courses! for! engineering&related! majors,!
and!the!applicability!of!the!degree!beyond!the!undergraduate!arena.!!AAAEA!at!
UCLA!is!currently!the!only!professional!student!club!to!develop!this!program.!

As!the!only!current!Arab&interest!professional!student!club!at!UCLA,!AAAEA!at!
UCLA!has!the!capability!to!design!and!maintain!a!special!mentorship!program!
with! the! goal! of! aiding! students! in! their! various! classes.! !This! mentorship!
program! is! intended! to! be! open! to! all! UCLA! students,! irrespective! of!
major.! !Mentors! from! AAAEA! at!UCLA! hope! to!successfully! assist! fellow!UCLA!
students! with! class! assignments! as! well! as! boost! the! skills! of! aspiring! Arabic!
conversationalists.!AAAEA! at! UCLA! hopes! to! subsequently! increase! its!

General! Meetings! are! held! throughout! the! Fall,! Winter,! and! Spring!
quarters! at! UCLA.! !These! meetings! are! held! to! converge! all! AAAEA! at!
UCLA! general! members,! discuss! general! happenings,! present!
opportunities! to! become! involved,! and! request! feedback! from! general!
members.! !Important! topics! regarding! the! global! scenes! of! engineering,!
business,!and!technology!are!also!presented!if!such!topics!are!relevant!to!

UCLA'Startup'Fair!
!
The! UCLA! Startup! Fair! was! created! a! year! ago! by! the! current! Vice!
President!of!AAAEA!at!UCLA!in!coordination!with!7!of!the!largest!clubs!at!
UCLA,!and!was!one!of!the!most!successful!events!of!the!year!with!over!300!
students!and!40!entrepreneurs!in!attendance.!This!year!AAAEA!at!UCLA!is!
proud! to! co&organize! the! second! iteration! of! this! fair,! called! the! Bruin!
Startup! Fair.! By! encouraging! and! facilitating! the! presence! of! Arab!
entrepreneurs!and!companies!as!well!as!our!members!at!the!fair,!we!hope!
to!strengthen!the!Arab!presence!in!the!LA!startup!scene!in!specific!and!on!
the!UCLA!campus!in!general!as!well!as!provide!opportunities!for!growth!
for!both!our!members!and!corporate!partners.!

Socials'and'Retreats'
!
Not! only! does! AAAEA! at! UCLA! help! create! professional! and! academic!
relationships! between! its! members,! but! also! make! certain! that! these!
relationships! transcend! the! classroom.! Several! socials! are! organized!
throughout!the!year!so!that!members!can!get!to!know!each!other!beyond!a!
professional! setting.! These! socials! serve! the! purpose! of! publicizing! the!
