Horses Inspire! Interactive Equine-Assisted Therapy for Youth Ages 7-21 Fall, Spring and Summer Semesters held at Hunter’s Glen in Cheshire Horses Inspire! is a 6-session psychotherapy program based on the foundation that horses can support and challenge children and adolescents to understand their life experiences and rewrite their life stories with confidence and positive self worth and respect. Horses are compassionate animals that rely on trust based relationships and can provide children and adolescents with the opportunity to form a close and connected bond. This program is delivered to children ages 7-21 under the supervision of a LCSW, equine specialist, and partnering with a variety of horses. Horses Inspire! promises to provide children with programming that: Promotes respect for horses and the natural world. Increases adolescent’s empathic responses thorough their interaction with an equine friend. Horses are “flight” animals and forming a true bond requires the development and use of empathic communication skills. Provides children with an interactive therapeutic experience that raises self-esteem and provides them with an opportunity for empowerment. Increases positive verbal and nonverbal communication skills through their relationship with horses and each other. Provides an experience in the here and now which allows new opportunities for problem solving, creative thinking and understanding cause and effect behaviors Payment options: Insurance accepted, including Husky.
