Background Notes Mission Vistaar preparatory meetings in West Bengal are in the final stage. 16 districts are completed and last 4 will be completed soon. How did it all start and how is it heading? Since central observers were not appointed in West Bengal, after discussion with national mission vistaar team, national secretary and other leaders involved with Bengal an online registration for participation was started in September 2014. An faq and roadmap drawn http://aapwb.org/faq . It was agreed to start the preparatory process and the West Bengal State Office was authorised to visit the districts and start the preparatory meetings, to explain the process, interact with the online mv applicants, review their capabilities and performance and shortlist Bidhansabha and District Level Point of Contacts (POCs) with whom the WB State Office could coordinate further. Overcoming all odds, the small team led by Arijit Upadhyay and Kinsuk Sinha Roy, (with dedicated background support by Shyamal Ghosh, Sangeeta Das, Sanjoy Basu) held 12 meetings involving 16 districts covering over 4000 kms.
