College Decision-Making About Noncredit Instruction
ASCCC Noncredit Committee
ASCCC Curriculum Committee
This participatory session is for faculty, senate leaders, curriculum chairs and
administrators invested in creating opportunities to enhance student success and access.
In light of CDCP funding changes, CTE initiatives, and the restructuring of adult and
continuing education, new opportunities for college-wide discussions are vital to ensure
colleges navigate the ever-changing balance between state funding and mandates with the
mission of quality curriculum that enhances student success. Curriculum committee
members and participants from colleges with noncredit programs will be on hand to
provide guidance in how to facilitate these discussions locally. The goal of this session is
for participants to draft a working plan to help their colleges make informed decisions
about noncredit and credit instruction that best serves their students.
2:30-3:00 pm
Groups will come back together to share their plans.
