Farouk started his career in 1998 with the Bank of England, where he was seconded to the Financial
Services Authority (FSA). Mr. Soussa left the Bank in 2004 to become Head of Middle East and Africa
Sovereign Ratings at Standard & Poors, before joining Citibank in May 2010. He is originally from Egypt
and holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Birmingham, UK.
The panel will discuss the status of the hydrocarbon and renewable sectors in the region, emerging
opportunities and challenges as the region continues to experience expanding demand for power.
Weighing need for sustainable sources of Energy.
