Waitlisted students have full access to the class site. Read the document “First Week Checklist “on the class D2L home page and take the orientation quiz. Read and print “How to Complete your Work” and “Schedule of Assignments.” Click on Course Resources, Content and read all of the Syllabus and MyItLab documents. Students who do not take and pass the orientation quiz by the first Thursday, of the semester are subject to being dropped as “no shows.” If you missed the first week of an on-campus course, you would be dropped. The same rules apply to online courses. Waitlisted students are automatically moved into the course when someone drops and makes “room.” Add codes are not available to instructors until the second week of the semester. It is your responsibility to purchase the correct book and to have the correct version of Microsoft Office. You need Windows, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Fall 2015 ALL ONLINE: S. Kinghorn Plan ahead. Enjoy the flexibility! You need your book DAY ONE. The first assignments and tests are due the second week of the semester. All work may be submitted early. No late work is accepted. No exceptions. Prerequisites: None. This 3-unit course introduces students to the fundamentals of the computer,networks, the Internet, Windows, MS Office 2013: Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint. Students taking this course should be comfortable using a computer, have access to the Internet, and have basic email and Internet navigation skills. The Ventura College LRC Computer Lab is available six days a week for students who need access to a computer and the Internet. Check the hours. All students should complete the troubleshooting steps on the Distance Ed site AND the MyItLab site in order to avoid having computer problems. If you have a Mac, you may have compatibility problems with D2L AND with MyItLab. Check with the techs BEFORE you purchase the book. It’s especially important to do the browser check!
