To Antique and Classic Boating Enthusiasts Everywhere:
The Finger Lakes Chapter invites you to be part of its 37th Annual Antique and Classic Boat Show in Skaneateles, NY.
The Show’s setting is along the village pier and in lakeside Clift Park at the north end of 16-mile-long Skaneateles Lake,
The show is a judged event with unique awards in several categories following the ACBS Two-track Judging System.
Excellent docks can accommodate 44 boats along the village pier, and another 40 boats can be easily located in the adjacent
park as land-displays. Its tree-shaded lawns provide a perfect setting for land displays of watercraft and nautical exhibits.
Two miles down the lake is an excellent state launch (no launch fee) where FLC crews standby to assist with the launch
and reloading processes A hallmark of the Skaneateles Boat Show is complimentary valet parking of trailers and tow
vehicles so that after launching, exhibitors need only concern themselves with a pleasant boat ride up the lake to the Boat
Show venue. Similarly, tow-vehicles and trailers can be taken to the launch for reloading of boats after the Boat Show.
Skaneateles is a picturesque and historic village founded in 1833. Today, it boasts excellent restaurants, enticing boutiques
and shops, and beautifully restored and maintained homes on tree-lined streets. Concerts in the park, children’s activities,
and narrated riding tours of the village are also part of this festive weekend.
All that’s needed to complete the picture is your participation! We hope you will plan to make the trip to Skaneateles and
enjoy a special weekend with many friends in the antique boating community.

Judging Categories
The Boat Show is a judged event with awards in the three judging categories shown below
(Preserved Boats, Restored Boats and Other). Wooden boats being judged in the Preserved
category should be high-scoring boats with at least 60% of the original deck and topside wood
remaining. In addition, any restoration work must have been done using the same methods as the
original builder. Restored boats are those with less originality. A new award this year is the Best in
Show, Non-Wood which may be won by an entry in either the Preserved or Restored category. The
judges, using information supplied by the owner and the ACBS Judging Guidelines, will ultimately
confirm the proper category for an entry being judged. Marque Club Awards will be awarded to
outstanding examples of Century, Chris-Craft, Gar Wood, Hacker Craft and Lyman boats as
determined by the judges. If entries are to be judged, Registration and Reservation Forms must be
received by July 15th. (Please see page 4 for additional information on return dates.) If you do not
want boats, etc. to be judged, please so note in the space provided on the Registration Form.

Sunday morning for a one-hour cruise for photographers and spectators. The Judge will leave from
the Mid-Lakes dock in Clift Park and make a slow tour of the north end of Skaneateles Lake while
exhibitors' boats are invited to make random passes close abeam for action photo opportunities with
various backgrounds. The fare is $12 for adults and $5 for children under 13 accompanied by an
adult. No reservations are necessary and you can pay onboard. Coffee and pastries will be available.
Mid-Lakes requires a minimum of 20 passengers to sail.
Deadlines
If you would like to have the history/story of your boat considered for publication in the Boat Show
Program, it must be received by May 30th accompanied by payment and completed Registration and
Reservation Forms. Otherwise, completed forms should be returned with payment not later than
July 15th. Boat histories/stories returned by the later date, will be used in announcements over the
park’s public address system throughout the weekend. Entries received after July 15th will be
welcomed on a space-available basis but will be eligible for judging solely at the discretion of the
Chief Judge. Adjustments to number of meal reservations (increases and refunds) can be
accommodated up to one full week before the start of the Boat Show.
Confirmation Letters
Shortly after receipt of completed Registration and Reservation Forms, confirmation letters will be
returned to registrants. Each letter will include detailed information on directions to Skaneateles
and the launch ramp, available launch assistance and valet parking, security, etc.
Commercial Transactions and “For Sale” Signs
A local ordinance prohibits commercial (for profit) transactions in Clift Park. Any such transactions
must be conducted away from the park area. The use of “For Sale” signs on boats, motors or
displays in the Boat Show area is similarly prohibited. However, a bulletin board will be available at
the Registration Tent where items for sale may be posted.
