Our Invitation To You
The 43rd ACF National Cat Show returns once again to sunny Perth, Western Australia. The show is being
held at the Perth Royal Showground in Claremont and is hosted by the hardworking team from CatsWA. We
have an amazing judging line up. This is the first time the ACF National show will feature eight rings of
international, interstate and local judges. Our enthusiastic members are ready to welcome you and your cats
to the show.
The weekend will also see CatsWA hosting the Australian Cat Federation Annual General Meeting and Judges
Guild meetings. The ACF National Show is open to the public and a wonderful chance for people to come
along and see your exhibits, some of Australia's finest cats and kittens.
Please join us in June for what will be a wonderful and exciting show.
Sincerely
2015 ACF National Show Committee
The Australian Cat Federation
The Australian Cat Federation Inc (better known as the ACF), had it’s beginnings in 1972. It began with the
key aim of promoting unity and harmony across the Australian Cat Fancy. The ACF promotes the welfare of
all cats, the responsible and ethical breeding and showing of pedigreed cats, and the showing of neutered
and spayed domestic cats. Across Australia it has affiliated member bodies in every Australian state and in
the Northern Territory.
Every year in June there is a prestigious ACF National Cat Show. It is hosted in turn by ACF member bodies
and has also been held by the ACF directly in recent years. Holding the show takes a lot of time and
dedication from dedicated volunteers and it is a highlight of the annual cat show calendar for many
exhibitors. Breed standard for judges to judge to and breeders to breed to have been developed by the ACF
and it has developed and promotes uniform breeding rules for each cat breed it recognizes as well as for the
development of new breeds or new patterns and colors in recognized breeds.
Many people contribute greatly to the running of the ACF as well as its member bodies. The annual National
Show and the meetings and seminars held over the weekend are a culmination of their efforts and greatly
appreciated by the individual members of the cat fancy.
Your Hosts CatsWA
CatsWA is the new name for the Feline Control Council of Western Australia (Inc) also known as FCCWA.
CatsWA is a registration body for pedigree cats in Western Australia, as well as domestic and pet cats.
Importantly CatsWA insists on its Members maintaining a high standard of cat husbandry to ensure the
proper care and ownership of all cats, pedigree or domestic, show cats or pet cats. It maintains the integrity
of pedigree cat records, it promotes excellence in the breeding standards and exhibition of cats, and
supports its members by way of governance, advice, awards, judge and steward training, shows and
exhibitions and also holds social events.
CatsWA is a member of the Australian Cat Federation and follows the ACF Breed Standards
The Show Venue
The ACF National Show Committee have found a
fabulous venue for the show this year. It will be held at
the Tom Wilding Pavilion at the Claremont
Showgrounds.
The pavilion is a column less 1865sqm clear span space
that has been used for agricultural shows at the Perth
Royal Show for many years. It is located inside gate
eight at the showground with entry from Ashton
Avenue.
For more location information and maps visit the venue
section of our website at www.acf2015.breedsite.com. As it is a large open hall it may be cold on the day of
the show. We recommend you bring a warm jacket in case it is cool on the show weekend.

Show Format and Style
The 2015 ACF National Show will be run as an Australian Open Championship style show. Judging will be
bay style which means the exhibits stay in their show cages for the day in bays around a judging table.
Stewards will take the exhibits to and from the judging table where the judge will judge them. The show
will follow the Australian Cat Federation Inc. Rules and Regulations.
This year for the first time the show will be an exciting eight rings and will be conducted over two days. The
show will start on Saturday morning and conclude on Sunday afternoon (with an overnight break of course).
There will be top placings for the best exhibits in each group in each section of entires, kittens and desexed.
At this show every exhibit will receive a presentation rosette at the beginning of the show. This rosette is to
be displayed on your exhibits cage for the duration of the show. As placings are awarded special place tags
will be given out to the winning exhibits. At the end of the show these tags can be attached to the centre
ribbon on your exhibits rosette. Presentation rosettes with placetags are popular at shows in Europe and
the US. We are excited to offer them to our exhibitors this year. Best in group and overall in ring placings
will have rosettes and/or trophies awarded.

Show Placings and Awards
Exhibits will compete in their individual classes with Challenge and Award of Merit awarded to entire and
desexed exhibits plus Companion Merit Awards in Group Four. Exhibits will then be eligible for a Best of
Breed award in section. ACF Awards of Excellence will also be presented to the best male and female cat of
sufficient merit in each of group one, two and three for the entire and desexed sections. Once your exhibit
has attained ten ACF Awards you can apply for a prestigious ACF Award of Excellence title.
You can also apply for an ACF Australian National title if your exhibit has earned Challenges or Awards of
Merit at other ACF National Shows or from international judges at other shows. More information on ACF
titles can be found here http://www.acf.asn.au/index.php?page=titles
Please note that points will not be shown on awards as a points system is not used in WA. Should you
require evidence of points for your association the show secretary will be able to confirm them in writing in
the week after the show.
Class Definitions
When you enter this show your cat or kittens class will be calculated for you based on sex, age, colour,
breed etc. If you are using online entry you will be able to check your exhibits class on the screen. If you
are using a paper entry it will be emailed to you in a confirmation email. Please note that as per the
National Show Rules, your kitten must be twelve weeks old on the first day of the show. This show will not
have classes for litters of kittens.
Vetting at the show
A vetting slip showing your exhibits details and cage numbers will be emailed to you before the show.
Copies will also be available at the entrance to the show along with ordered catalogues. If you have a kitten
entered in the show you must have vaccination certificates showing that your kitten was vaccinated no less
than fourteen days before the show. These should be available for inspection at the show so don't forget to
put them in your show bag especially if you are travelling to the show.
Over the two days of the show random vetting of exhibits will occur in cage. Vets will be in attendance for
most of the show. Please refer to show rule 17 for more information.

Volunteering for the Show
As you can imagine a two day show is a big event and will take a lot of effort from a lot of people to make it
run smoothly. If you or members of your family can help in any way we would love to hear from you.
Specifically we will need people to help with show logistics including transport, set up and pack up etc. As a
bonus if you come to help with show set up you can put up your cages and curtains at the end.
Stewards & Scribes
With an eight ring show we will need as many stewards and scribes to work with our judges as possible. If
you are a qualified steward or you can perform the duties of a judge’s scribe we would love your help over
the weekend at the show. Please contact our Show Manager Lucy Nikiforos at [email protected].
Coming to watch the show
We are looking forward to having many cat lovers come to the show over the weekend. You can see the
cats being judged, talk to breeders and look at all the different breeds.
Entry prices for the general public
$5 Adults
$10 Families
Raffle Draws
There will be a big raffle table set up at the show with lots of raffle prize draws to choose from. Bring plenty
of spare change along and you could win yourself some great prizes.
Sponsoring Rosettes
With our presentation rosette and placing tags we have a great opportunity for you to sponsor placings at
the show at a very reasonable cost. To view our rosette sponsorship form please visit our website at
www.acf2015.breedsite.com and click on the info menu (top right)
Cage Sizes and Curtains
Great news. You can bring your own show cages to the show as long as they are standard show cages. A
small should be no wider than 65cm and no deeper than 50cm. A large should be no wider than 85cm and
no deeper than 50cm. You must make sure your cages have solid sides attached to prevent cats coming
into contact with each other. These can be made from corflute or other solid material and must not be see
through or fabric.
At this show we will have cages for hire in the following sizes
•
Single cages 65cm x 45cm or 50cm x 50cm
•
Large Cages 85cm x 45cm or 75cm x 50cm
Because the cages do differ it would be a good idea to use adjustable curtains for this show. Curtains may
be any colour but without any other decoration in the cage and no distinguishing marking such as names
etc.
Stalls and Catalogue Advertising
Would you like to be part of the show and showcase your products or services to our exhibitors and to the
cat loving public? At one of our stalls you can sell products or promote your business. There is more
information about having a stall at the show on the show website at
www.acf2015.breedsite.com/docs/ACF_National_Cat_Show_Stall_Holder_2015.pdf
Advertising in the catalogue is also available. We are accepting business card sized adverts at $15.00 each.
You can include the card with your entry and we will scan it or email an electronic copy to the Show
Secretary. A full page advert is $35 and a half page is $20. Please contact the show secretary to discuss
other catalogue advert sizes.
Important Things You Need To Know
Before the show
•
All non CatsWA exhibitors - Please make sure you include a copy of each cats registration
certificate/certified pedigree with your entry. These can be photocopied for your paper entry or
uploaded for your online entry.
•
If your cat has a title you must put it on the entry form and for non-CatsWA exhibits supply
evidence for the title (registration, certificates). These can be photocopied for your paper entry
or uploaded for your online entry.
•
Not every exhibit can cope with a show of this size. It is eight rings over two days so your
cat will have a lot of travelling to and from the show as well as being handled in and out of its
show cage. Please take a moment to consider your cat’s temperament when entering the show.
Your entry fee is for all eight rings regardless of your cat being withdrawn from any ring.
•
All exhibits must have front and rear claws clipped.
•
Please take care completing your entry. If you are entering online your entry will not be able to be
submitted with missing information. Both paper and online entries will receive an entry
confirmation. Check it carefully and reply with any changes as errors will result in your cat
being disqualified or outclassed in all rings.
•
Desexed and entire kittens will be shown in the same class at this show.
•
As per show rule 12 only one exhibitor pass will be given per owner so if you will be accompanied by
other friends or family you may need to purchase another pass with your entry.
•
Do not send original pedigree copies as these will not be returned.
•
Entries will not be accepted for breeds or colours/patterns that are not accepted by ACF
At the show
•
All exhibits must remain in their cages until the show closes.
•
Please be aware of the closing time of the show. Any exhibit left in the hall unattended at the close
of show on either day will be removed and taken to one of the boarding catteries listed above
overnight at the owner’s expense.
•
Cat litter must be disposed of ONLY in the marked bins. Please don’t use the judges bins as the
odour is unpleasant and will upset other exhibits.
•
No powders or sprays are to be used within the show hall unless in a designated grooming area.
