ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Primary Functions • Completes FMX work order submittals and performs maintenance tasks and repairs as assigned to ensure that all Aztec Recreation (ARC, ARC Express, Aztec Lanes, Racquetball and Aquaplex) facilities are maintained, clean and in good repair • Reviews FMX work order list daily; performs regular routines and completes work order tasks as assigned • Performs emergency and scheduled repairs to buildings, furniture and equipment • Performs regular walk-throughs of the facilities and inspects equipment to ensure preventative maintenance is performed in a timely manner • Ensures that facility/equipment repair and storage areas are neat, clean and orderly • Paints various facility areas and equipment using approved methods • Repairs floors (carpet, tile, wood), walls and ceilings • Replaces light bulbs, ballast and fuses; repairs electrical lines and fixtures • Maintains and repairs building fixtures, locks, windows and doors • Repairs and maintains plumbing fixtures including several large commercial laundry equipment pieces • Performs planned, predictive and preventive maintenance on all ARC and ARC Express weight-room and complex cardiovascular-fitness equipment • Performs semi-regular custodial tasks in keeping bathrooms clean and supplies stocked and replenished • Repairs and maintains the building/facility HVAC systems in the ARC • Operates and controls the building automation system, using the Siemens Apogee System • Repairs and maintains exercise and gym equipment, laundry and other equipment as assigned Administration • Ensures all corporate and departmental deadlines are met and procedures are followed • Ensures daily office tasks are completed in a timely manner according to established guidelines • • • • Ensures completion of scheduled routing tasks and reports including: o Daily: Logs all completed work orders o Weekly: Meets with supervisor to discuss issues and ensure proper resolution; assists supervisor with maintenance inspection forms and reports, maintains proper inventory of equipment parts, supplies and materials necessary for performance of assigned tasks o Monthly: Attends staff meetings In accordance with established check-lists and guidelines and in the absence of the Building Services Coordinator, initiates start-up of necessary equipment Conducts daily morning and shift ending inspections, inspects all equipment rooms and critical equipment such as laundry equipment, heating and chilled water systems Reports operational discrepancies in building systems and other non-routine items to supervisor Safety • Ensures all operations are conducted with safety of staff and customers as first priority, and in accordance with the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and other safety policies • Adheres to the Injury and Illness Prevention Plan and ensures all department safety plans are up-to-date and followed • Ensures monthly inspections of facility and equipment in division are conducted to ensure all areas are clean, in good repair and in compliance with all safety codes • Ensures all employees are provided safety training and attend safety meetings regularly • Ensures compliance with Associated Students’ and departmental Code of Safe Practices • Maintains attendance records of safety meetings as required by OSHA rules • Implements risk management/safety plan, including regular review of accident reports and changes required to avoid reoccurrence.
