Notice of Race XXXIX Annual AISC Dogwood Regatta 2015 Lake Lanier, Georgia – Friday, March 27-­‐Sunday, March 29, 2015 1. Venue The XXXIX Annual AISC Dogwood Regatta 2014 will be held on Lake Sidney Lanier just north of Atlanta, Georgia. Registration, Friday evening Skipper’s Meeting, Saturday evening party and Sunday gathering and awards ceremony will take place at Branch House Tavern located at 5466 McEver Rd, Flowery Branch, GA 30542. 2. Rules The Regatta will be governed by the Rules as defined in the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS) 2013-­‐2016, the PHRF Rules and Regulations as adopted and amended by the LLPHRF and the class rules of any one-­‐design fleets as established. 3. Eligibility The Regatta is open to all auxiliary boats, multi-­‐hulls, sailboards, and one-­‐design keelboats. All competing vessels must display a sail number on the mainsail. Any boat not displaying a sail number will be scored as DNS. This changes rule 62.1. This will not be grounds for redress. Auxiliary boats sailing in a PHRF fleet must have a valid PHRF Rating issued by the Lake Lanier PHRF Committee. Applications for a PHRF Rating must be handled directly with the LLPHRF Committee. See www.aiscracing.com for application and information. Fleets A minimum of four (4) boats shall constitute a one design fleet. All Fleets will be established at the close of advanced registration. Fleets will be established BASED ON PRE-­‐
REGISTRATION ENTRIES and MAY include: J-­‐22, J-­‐24, Melges 24, Elliott 770, Catalina 22, Santana 20, FT10, Portsmouth, Wavelength 24 PHRF: Spinnaker Fleets , PHRF: Non-­‐Spinnaker Fleets, PHRF: Multi-­‐Hulls, Performance Cruiser Racer Fleet Other: 4. Sailing Instructions The Sailing Instructions will be available in a “hard copy” form at registration and will also be posted on the Official Notice Board, located at Race Headquarters, The Branch House Tavern located at 5466 McEver Rd, Flowery Branch, GA 30542. Cruisers will be provided an option for a pursuit start in the vicinity of “X” or for a flat start, with details to be discussed and confirmed in the Friday evening skippers meeting. 5. Scoring The Low Point Scoring system will be used. Auxiliaries not sailing in a one-­‐design fleet or in the Portsmouth Fleet will be scored using the LLPHRF rating system, modified by time-­‐on-­‐distance correction. One race constitutes a series for all fleets. There will one throw out if 4 or more are completed. This changes Rule A2. 6. Racing Area Auxiliaries, and one design fleets will race on 1 of 2 specific racing areas utilizing closed buoy courses. PCRF Auxiliaries will race on long distance courses. 7. Number of Races PHRF Races On the closed courses, multiple races will be attempted on Saturday and Sunday. Performance Cruisers Racing Fleet Races On the long-­‐distance course, one race will be attempted on Saturday and one race on Sunday. This may be changed at the skipper’s meeting Friday. 8. Prizes/Trophies Regatta class awards will be presented to winners determined by fleet size. The AISC/West Marine Regatta Champion’s name will be add to the “Perpetual Trophy” for winning the class with the closest and most competitive racing. 9. Entries and Fees Registration Forms are included with this notice. Entries postmarked after this date MUST include the $10 late fee. Registrations will also be accepted at the Skipper’s Meeting on Friday, March 27th at the standard $170 fee, check or cash.
