About WAKER 2015
• The third Western Australia-Korea Energy and
Resources (WAKER) Forum 2015 is being held in
Seoul on 28 May 2015.
• The Hon. Bill Marmion Minister for Finance;
Mines and Petroleum will be leading a business
delegation.
• The WAKER Forum aims to enhance bilateral
business and investment opportunities between
WA and Korea, particularly in the energy, mineral,
constructions and finance sectors.

KAFTA
• The Korea-Australia Free Trade
Agreement (KAFTA) entered into
force on 12 December 2014.
• KAFTA has eliminated tariffs on 84
per cent of Korea’s imports (by
value) from Australia.
• Within two decades, 99.8 per
cent of Australian goods exports
will enter Korea duty free.

• No administrative fees to join delegation

• Special corporate rates at the Grand Hyatt Seoul
• WATO Seoul can make reservations on the delegates behalf
• WATO Seoul may assist with booking other hotels, if required
Transport
• Group transfers provided
• WATO Seoul will cover the cost of any group travel transfers
• WATO Seoul can assist with booking individual transfers, at
delegates own costs
• On ground transport to Geoje Shipyard is included

Arrival time
• The Hon. Bill Marmion has prior arrangements in Seoul before
WAKER, therefore he will not be travelling to Seoul with the
delegation.
• Delegates are welcome to arrive earlier for additional pre-arranged
meetings (upon request via the Business Matching form).

Site visit numbers capped at a maximum of 15 delegates
Flights to Geoje are around $AUD 250 pp return
Departing from Seoul to Busan in the morning of 29 May.
Returning back to Seoul late afternoon.
