ALAMO DOG OBEDIENCE CLUB, INC. ADOC TRAINING GUIDELINES Thank you for choosing to train with Alamo Dog Obedience Club. Please follow the basic training class rules. These rules are meant to make training with ADOC enjoyable and safe for handlers and dogs. Your cooperation is appreciated. Please direct questions or concerns to your instructor or the training director. We value your participation in our classes. 1. Do not park in the adjacent veterinarian parking lot. This lot is reserved for instructors and the veterinarian’s after hours patients. When you get out of your vehicle and until you get back in your vehicle, keep your dog secure on a leash. Never let your dog off leash until it is the appropriate time in class to do so. All basic class dogs. 2. Never let your dog sniff other dogs in the training yard or parking lot. Some dogs that train with us, especially the first couple of classes, may not be friendly and outgoing, even if your dog is. Not watching your dog at all times is not only careless but inconsiderate of other handlers and their dogs. 3. Should your dog need to relieve itself, please pick up after your dog with a pooper-scooper provided in the training yard or with a plastic bag. We do not supply plastic bags, but you should keep some handy on your person or with your training gear. Do not let your dog relieve itself in the veterinarian’s yard or parking lot. 4. No dogs will be allowed in the training yard without prior proof of age-appropriate vaccinations, including bordatella. 5. When leaving or entering the training yard, close the gate securely behind you at all times. 6. Only handlers and dogs registered for classes are allowed inside the fenced training area. Friends and family are invited to watch from outside the fence and may bring chairs to sit on. Children should not be left unattended. 7. Dogs must be free of fleas and ticks. 8. There are no refunds for training class fees. 9. No bitches in season are allowed in the training yard. Handlers should attend class without their dog while the dog is in season to observe the class instruction. 10. No dogs will be tied to the fence or areas around the training yard. Handlers should provide a crate or exercise pen to contain their dogs when necessary. 11. Dogs are not allowed in the equipment buildings. 12. There will be no smoking in the training area. 13. The person designated on the training registration agreement as the handler of the dog will be considered the trainee for the duration of the training session. No substitution will be allowed without prior approval of the class instructor. 14. Should a class need to be cancelled, you will be contacted by the training director or the class instructor. Please keep in mind that sometimes we have to make a judgment to cancel class based on weather advisories. If a class is cancelled, the session will be extended. AS A CONDITION TO ACCEPTANCE OF THIS APPLICATION THE FOLLOWING MUST BE SUBMITTED: Application with signed Release Agreement and Guidelines A copy of dog’s current Rabies and current vaccines to include DHLPP and Bordatella. A check made payable to ADOC for $90.00 (returning student fee is $70.00) or Cash.
